Sure would be nice to see Harden back in the lineup...however this game is very winnable without him. Go Cats.

Coach Solich sounded very optimistic about both Harden and T2 in the presser...

sweeeeeet!  With Harden back the offense will have another hitch in their step. The combo of he and Boykin were pretty amazing as we saw in the Marshall game.

Stop over at the Beefalo fan site and say hello to our little friend with the boa....and that's female feathered attire not manly snake....the one and only (thank goodness) MH55.

If he's smart he'll take some Yuengling to a Beefalo tailgate of buffalo wings that has to be scrumptious.

We have Yuengling in Ohio now....so the only thing I've ever liked about Pennsylvania (besides our Cat players from there) is now attainable.

Begging for an assist from an in division team this early in the season?  Embarrassing even by his standards...

Sure.  A standard boast (going to Big Least, ACC, etc.); a standard whine (competing for attendance against Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, etc.); a standard "comeback" for the fact that Temps hasn't yet beaten a MAC team with a winning record (go away for awhile then come back later).

I'm hoping Harden is healthy enough to get into the game, even if he doesn't start.  He hasn't seen action in three weeks, and it would be great if he can shake off some rust before the BSU game next week.

Buffalo is hardly a lock these days.  They play competitively, and the seniors were on the '08 bowl team, so they've had a taste of success.

Buffalo is not a lock by any stretch. I think this is a hugely dangerous game. With our banged up defense and the fact that Buffalo is much less inept offensively than Kent, I'm thinking we score 30 or we go home with an L. I'd like to see our offense limit mistakes and start humming again. I like our chances to put up serious points in the nice weather.

I agree. This is a classic "trap" game. Long roadtrip, inferior opponent, most likely a small crowd. We could play down to Buffalo and they could catch us looking ahead to next week. But I still think we'll be ready. We have a good team, and a fairly experienced team who won't let the young guys be unfocused. Go Cats!

I honestly don't think the phrase "trap game" can be applied to this team.  I can obviously see why many are concerned about (historically speaking) it but again, we're witnessing a new era with this team.   I just think the leadership simply won't let that kind of thing go down.  This season means too much to Noah for that attitude to filter through the D and Tyler is by far the most even keeled QB we've seen in recent memory...He's saying all the right things and I for one believe he means them.

On a related note, this quote from Coach Solich goes to show just how far we've come as a program...

“Our guys expect to play really good football, they expect to be physical, and so it really doesn’t come down to who your starting 11 is week after week after week,” he said. “I think we have confidence in our backup players and so as long as we don’t get wiped clean at a spot, we think we’ll be able to put a good football team on the field.”

To be fair how else can Temple win the division?

Two years ago he was all over UBFan blaming us for the 2009 loss as costing Temple the division....

Its the way Frank recruits his lineman that makes a difference. He recruits kids who are tough and who are agile that have the potential to end up on both sides of the ball. Frank is going on his 8th recruiting class here at Ohio and its taken some positions longer to blossom because of the stop gap needs. At the QB position T2 is the first true fresh recruited by Frank to ascend to the role of starter. The previous staff left the cupboard practically bare and it required a few recruiting classes to build the relationships needed with high school coaches. Overall depth in the program has been pretty good in the program since 2007. Over 2007-2008 the Bobcats had a record of 10-14 with 5 or 6 near miss wins on rougher MAC schedules. Off the field issues slowed the development of the program down as well like the Tommy Stuck saga. Now after 7 or 8 years Frank has been able to fully rebuild all the units from the ground up.

well I did say within the same post that it was a "trap game"...and that we have an experienced team that probably won't lose the focus to do that. I think we'll win handily, but it certainly is something that happens at every level. Can never over look your opponent. Go Bobcats. Bowl eligible w/ a win tomorrow?

The Cats are playing for MAC Championships. They know they can't afford to drop any conference games. That will catch up with you as we found out last year against Kent State. I've watched Ohio progress on the field from the early Frank years and it amazes me how good the team can potentially be at its best. The first half of the Marshall game was an illustration of the team playing up to its full capability. The problem is the team doesn't do it every week like Boise State. The Cats often bring their C or B game to the stadium and its plenty enough to get the job done against average MAC teams.

Gotta win at least as many as you lose. Unless we're playing a 10 game schedule, we need 6 wins (7 if we're in the MAC championship game) to be bowl eligible. IF we win tomorrow (so as not to jinx anything), it would make 5...
