Campus grounds department have decided that TailGreat Park is too wet/muddy to have cars driving in and out of there tomorrow.

It is basically a lake in some places, and they didn’t think it would dry enough before tomorrow’s game.

So, TailGreat will be closed to car traffic tomorrow.

There will still be the tents/inflatables/hospitality tent, but open only to foot traffic and some vendor vehicles.

They are asking people to setup their tailgates in the Blue Convo lot.

Tents/tables/chairs/grills and stuff can still be setup over there, just no parking right next to your tent.

Check the BA.com tailgate thread for details on where GMan will be setup tomorrow.

Release:

PEPSI TAILGREAT PARKING LOT CLOSED DUE TO WEATHER RELATED CONDITIONS

Due to the heavy rains of the past days and weeks, the Pepsi TailGreat Parking Lot will be closed for tomorrow’s (October 15, 2011) Homecoming football game.  Discussions with Ohio University Grounds Services and Parking Services led to the decision that no vehicles will be allowed to park in the grass/tree areas normally available during home football games.  Other areas within Pepsi TailGreat Park, such as kids inflatable games, the Ohio Bobcat Club/Green & White Club Hospitality Tent, and game space will remain open to foot traffic.

SEASON PARKING LOT WILL BE EXPANDED TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL TAILGATE OPPORTUNITES

Displaced Parking Pass holders who typically park in TailGreat Park are advised to park in the “Blue Lot.”  The Blue Lot will be expanded in anticipation of this change.  Your Ohio Bobcat Club parking pass will grant you access to one parking spot. Please be aware that parking pass holders may be asked by parking services to pay for any additional spaces they occupy. All parking lots will still open at 7:00am.

Ohio Athletics apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.  If you have any questions, please call the Ohio Bobcat Club (740) 593-1176 or Ohio Parking Services (740) 593-1917.

Wow, what a surprise!  I didn't think we had enough rain fall this week for something like this to happen.

Jeff, I don't have the exact figures in front of me, but overall this has been one of the wettest years in SEO history.  This summer, when it is typically fairly dry, my garden has been like a swamp almost all summer.  I never had to water it once.  In fact, it was virtually unproductive because my tomatoes and pepper plants literally rotted from all the excess moisture.  Admittedly my garden isn't well drained, but in the past I've never had this problem and usually had to water it frequently.

Don't know what it's been like in Athens, but up here we're about 10 inches above average for the first ten months of the year and we're already about 5 inches over the yearly average.  We're having a bumper crop of ragweed.

So all the parking spots will be taken up with tents? seems like they can not put them on grass they use two three spots and those who have to work and only get there a hour maybe hour and  half early are s.it out  of luck  when it comes to parking just great.  Think of  your fellow bobcat fans before takeing up bunch of spots you don't have passes for because parking will be hard to get.
