Hughes lost for the season -- that's a big loss.

J. Prior at one point limped off the field vs. Buffalo, did he come back in?

Apparently Solich didn't say much about Carl Jones's MRI.  With the Buffalo players saying their scheme was a direct result of Ohio's health issues at DT I can understand wanting to be cagey.

The good news is that DE Meyers was sick for UB, and will be fine this week.  That should help.

Besides injuries: I think Ohio matches up okay.  I don't think the Cardinals will have as much success as Buffalo running between the tackles.  Defending the short passing game is Ohio's strength.  Ball has been on the road twice this season, and was blown out both times (against good teams, but still).  Weather looks perfect for Saturday, hopefully will draw a good crowd.

Temps responded to a blowout with a blowout of their own.  We may see a Cardinal team on a mission Saturday.

Don't want to take anyone lightly, but Ball State is coming off two consecutive whippings:  59-6 to Oklahoma, and 42-0 to Temple.  This Ohio game could be their key to bouncing back.  Their season could go either way depending on what happens Saturday.  I like our chances in this one if we can get healthy enough.

Anyone else think it's kind of weird that we're in middle of homecoming week but we have very minimal discussion or interest in the football game?

It's only Wednesday and everyone is still a little deflated from last week.  Plus with a the defensive injuries, everyone has gotten a bit cautious.  It would be great if the coaches could come up with something like the black unis to get everyone pumped up (team and fans alike).

For what it's worth, the Cats have never lost to BSU under Coach Solich -- a 38-21 win at home in '05 and a 20-17 win at Muncie in '09.

I think the key to this game is getting off to a good start. By all accounts, the season started better for Ball State than even the coach expected. The last few weeks, however, BSU has been destroyed, probably hurting a lot of confidence. They may see our defensive injuries as an opportunity, so I think if we can jump out fast against them, that could hurt their manufactured confidence even more and snowball into an easy victory. If we give up a cheap early TD and turn the ball over, then look out.

I hope they leave the windows open during the drive down 33...I'd hate for them to drag that stench into Athens and ruin the Homecoming experience...

Yeah, there's been an awful lot of horsesh*t at the horseshoe this year.

That may be a tall order.  The Cats have scored on the first possession of a game only once this year (Terd) and were shutout in the first quarter against G-W and Kent.  In all, they've only scored 10 points in the first quarter at home this year.  Their strength has been the second quarter, but haven't done so well the last three games.  Time to get back to the early-season groove.

Gentlemen,
I would like to apologize. The debacle last week was my fault. I have found that our on field success is directly proportional to...ummm...how "good" I feel before the game. Last week I was not feeling "good". Today I am feeling "awesome". There is no way we lose today.

Go Bobcats

Nice play in the backfield by who I'm pretty sure was Antwan Crutcher.

There goes his redshirt. Its a shame that we had to blow his redshirt. We could have used him the first 6 games of the year.

Dumbass penalty by Ohio.  So far Bobcats sleep walking on offense.

Ohio's coaches are brain dead today. They just handed Ball State three more points with their poor decision making. With 20 seconds left that is on Frank Solich for that Play. If your gonna throw it then go for the deep ball. Even if we complete the pass we don't have time to do much with it.

Going to keep this short...whoever is calling plays on 3rd downs (offensive and defensive) needs to be chewed out.  We have 1 3rd down conversion compared to 7 for Ball U and it's because of terrible playcalling.

Next request, please throw the damn ball downfield. Screens and slants only get you so far.

Dear Lost & Found:

I can't find my offense. It was here last week. Hopefully I will find it soon. I found my stupid penalties in my back pocket. This halftime I will put posters on poles.

I make shiny slippery dirt, sort of.
