Making the trip to the lovely city of Akron for the game this weekend. Anyone else in? Also, does anyone know the tailgating situation?

Is one of you bringing the portable web cam to capture SBH's facial expressions as recommended by one our esteemed posters?  Please post the URL to check in to see this during the game.  Thanks.

I declared there was no way I was going to make my family go to this game over the weekend.  I'm now 50/50.

I've attended 2 games in person this  year: buffalo and ball state. In the interests of all that is (supersitiously) good for OHIO football, I'm going to stick to the voice of the bobcats and Rob C. this week.

I've been to Akron for several games over the years.  I've attended Bobcat Bashes there but never private tailgates.
And I have to say Alan Swank makes a good point.

Clearly, my plan is to sell plasma across the street from the stadium before attending. Bonus.

You are out of luck.  The plasma center moved around a year ago.  Just an empty  building now.

Forget packing the ski vest - just make sure you take the bulletproof one.

Two years ago there were OHIO tailgaters in the parking lot next to the new stadium.  It was all friendly!

Don't ask me why but I am actually going. I have not bothered to post my disappointment over this team the last two weeks because I didn't want to pile on the obvious.

That said I can't overcome my loyalty to OHIO. Once Wednesday comes, I have usually gotten over the bitter sting brought by these last two let downs. It is chipping away at me but I am still going to go.

Me, too! Will be there with Mrs. Oldcat and two others who are also both OU grads. We will all be attending the BOBCAT BASH.

No offense to anyone, but I'm going to OZ - the land of lions and tigers and bears - on Saturday.  It's Muskingum's homecoming and if the lone loose monkey doesn't get me, it should be a grand weekend.

I went two years ago to get a glance at the new stadium and I was pleasantly surprised by the campus. While the city of Akron itself isn't the greatest place on earth, they've done a nice job to keep the campus its own little enclave. The stadium is a jewel.

Actually, more like a jewel encrusted broach of a white elephant. What the hell were they thinking when they decided to spend $55 million for a huge stadium for the UA football program?

"That Tiger mascot looks awfully realistic! No seams or anything in that costume! Here, honey, take my picture with my head in the mascot's mouth! Ha ha!"

Hey, Alan, I forgot you graduate from Muskingum College.  Were you there when Athens native Bruce Rannow was on the football team?  He was younger than I, but I'm not sure if he was young enough to have overlapped with you, old man.  Just curious.

We are making the straight shot up 77, but not going to tailgate.  I think it's too hard to tailgate with the windows up and doors locked.

In +3.  Hope to hit the Barley House for some adult beverages and catch the shuttle to the game from there.
