Long range weather outlook says the Wednesday during the day will be pleasant with partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid 50s.  However, as the day develops and goes on into the night, the cloudiness will increase and there will be a possibility of showers over night.  The next day, Thursday, will have a 60% chance of showers.

So, we have to hope that the rain will not come in quicker than what is currently forecast.

Anyone heard the status of Bernard Pierce from Temple.  Sounds like he's a little banged up.

This game is very winnable.  Us at home, blackout, black jerseys (maybe).  Our road to Detroit is in our hands, Temple needs help.

Keys to the game:

Line of Scrimmage-  this is always important, but especially with a team who likes to run the ball.  You stop the run and put some pressure on a pass offense that already isn't great.  Offensively, we have a good passing attack but if we can get the run going, it'll help out a lot.

Spread the wealth-  Temple will probably key on Brazill and Dunlap, so getting the ball to other recievers AND tight ends will be crucial.  Basically, do what we did the first few games.

Come out with emotion; if we have the environment and passion we did against Marshall, it'll be a huge boost.

I like our chances with this game.  Figure out how to stop Pierce- you've stopped Temple.

I hope that a decent officiating crew shows up for this one.  The refs on the MAC TV games lately -- including some from other conferences -- have been pretty much an embarrassment.

You're in luck, Wake Forest @ North Carolina gets the Pam Ward treatment on Saturday.  We have Mark Neely & Ray Bentley.

I wonder if the MAC office reviews game officials' performances.  If it does, when the office spots officials' mistakes, I wonder if it calls them to their attention.  If it does, I wonder if it does anything more than issue a "tsk, tsk."

In the Akron game, the missed face mask call when Nate Carpenter was trying to intercept an Akron pass seemed a particularly egregious missed call.

Chance of rain appears to be decreasing as we get closer to game day.  Hope that continue.

Hey!  I like Pam Ward.  She's as good as any of the WWL's play by play people on the second rung and anyone who "gets" softball is alright with me.

That's good to hear. Rain plays against the team with the better passing offense though it can create fumbles for the running game.

In Monday's press conference, Solich said Jones and Leftwich would play and Huynh will not.

Anyone know if we're expecting a decent crowd? Will people come out for ESPN and Temple despite the recent disappointments?  I have to wonder how this blackout thing will work... we can't even get people to wear green usually.

Apparently Eric Benjamin is out with a foot injury. it is reported he was in a walking boot today.
