Forget the partying, booze, and clubs, today's win against Temple will go down as one of my best memories as a student at Ohio University.

As a junior, I've had my fair share of experiences at OU events but today is right up their with OU's win over Miami when Tommy hit the game winning 3 at the end.

The Blackout was awesome and the students were really into the game. Despite a lot of students leaving at halftime, students that stayed were great and made a lot of noise.

I got to watch the entire 2nd half from the sidelines because I know someone of power who let me watch the game on the field. Just a great experience watching such a great game close up next to the players.

Then the fans charged the field and I know some of you probably didn't like it, but it was so fun. It was amazing to celebrate side by side with the players while chanting and taking a knee for the team prayer.

Just a great overall game, victory for OU over Temple, and experience.

Also, it doesn't hurt when you get on ESPN like I did as well a few times. Just an awesome night and I wanted to share with you guys my experience.

Who in the world wouldn't love the students crashing the field?? I love it!

I was a student..my sophomore year if I recall...when OU broke the home losing streak record (someone correct me if I am wrong on the actual significance but like I said I was a student and didn't care at the time) and we charged the field and tore down the north end goal post....

Either way..I am happy for you that you had this experience as a student to always remember...I am also jealous as I had to sit back and watch as an alumni from the "other" side of the stadium!

You, too?  I remember that game, though it is a little hazy looking back.  Then again, it probably was hazy at the time, also, courtesy of some frosty beverages before the game.  I remember the 0-11 year or futility my sophomore year, too.  I'd be willing to bet that if the current students knew what it was like when we were dead last in Division IA, getting the student section full at every home game wouldn't be as big a challenge as it is now...

Sorry to the OP for a little threadjacking...but yeah in terms of students crashing the field....I say go for it...especially when its on the mother ship ESPN....

If I recall correctly I think our goal post tearing down escapades made ESPN...and that was before there was ever an ESPN ocho!!

Better then Marshall, and that is saying something... I know it wasn't really a field rushing worthy victory, but it was worth it.  We got a lot of new Bobcat diehards tonight.

BuffaloBob...just back back home in Cincy after watching one of the best games I've seen in Peden since I was a student in the late 60's.  The atmosphere was electric with the students really into it (although I just don't get the half time walk out).  I thought this was two quality MAC heavyweights trading punches and OUr guys won.  All I can say now is this one was for you MH55!  By the way, my son watched the game on ESPN and said it was a great show.

Now, let's get on to the next one.  No slip ups the next three weeks.

I concur.

The nice thing was that ESPN did a replay at 3 am and I recorded it.  I couldn't record it at the regular time since my wife records everything on Wed. from Survivor to Harry's Law....etc.  etc.

Also nice to see Yuengling on tap......good stuff....and a great tailgate by Gman per usual.

Amen...I want to believe, it's just hard.

Tough to pick Temple or Marshall games as more fun.  I'm still going Marshall with how much we destroyed them.

ESPN3.com will also have the game archived to watch online as usual. Im not sure how long they keep it but its at least a few months if not forever.

Yes guys running on the field and the players embracing all the fans was AMAZING!! The students that left early and went to the bars where mad that they missed out OH WELL! Top 3 best experience  as a fan was knelling down with the players at mid field and I played some college ball myself.

Rushing the field is something that every college student will remember years after they graduate. I know I do from the one time I was able to do it while at Ohio. I consider testimony like buffalobobcat'an's proof that my donation to Ohio football was money well spent because the students are starting to take notice of how well we are playing. We need the support of the Ohio students in the stands.

They used to allow the students on the field after the game for the Marching 110's post game show. It was great fun playing in the post game show and then having the student body on the field dancing around the band. However, they never broke the ranks of the band, so it was great fun had by all!

Assuming the same policy as last season, the game should be available there until shortly before next football season.  (Marshall game, too!)

The game was fun and the atmosphere exciting.

However, my most memorable comes two years ago in the November to Remember when the Bobcats knock off a talented N. Illinois squad and then on Thanksgiving cutting our holiday lunch short, my two in the 110 and I scurry back to Athens for band practice on Thanksgiving followed by an early Friday game where the Bobcats destroyed Temple.  Two BIG games that sent Ohio to Detroit.  The offense in those two games led by Theo Scott clicked for 8 full quarters and the defense was quite impressive even though N.Illinois staged a spirited late rally.

That November was when I knew Ohio football was legit courtesy of Frank Solich.

I remember that game.  I ate thanksgiving with my family in Columbus (where my Aunt lives) and drove to Athens for the game the next day.  I was with the dozen or so students who rushed the field (I kinda asked the rest if we could do that) when we won.  For some reason their quarterback kept throwing the ball to us (in the stands) as if we were playing.....oh and it was my first year on the Athens campus.....so I'm with you on that being memorable.
