I was rooting for the Chips but you guys pounded the hell out of them.  What the heck happened against Buffalo and Ball State earlier in the season.

Sorry but I have to root next week for Miami so we can keep Temple's hopes alive.

Injuries. Without injuries this team is probably 9-1.

A 41 yard field goal miss to tie the Ball State game didn't help, but that's just 1 play.

Teams go into slumps.  Plus, both Buffalo and BSU were jacked up for some reason (maybe BSU had something to prove after the thumping the Owls gave them the week before).  This team can still make double-digit wins.  They just need to keep playing aggressive and cutting down on mistakes.

Keep in mind we lost by only 1 to Buffalo and 3 to Ball State. We've lost 3 games by a combined total of 15 points this season.

3-0 in turnovers against the Cardinals.

Ohio was struggling to stop the run against both Buffalo and Ball State due to injuries and it took some time to get adjusted.

I think last night's win is even more impressive given how sloppy they played. The penalties need to go away if they want to win these last two games.

I was impressed with the smash-mouth style in the 2nd half. The versatility the offense has exhibited this season; passing on the sprint, passing in the pocket, option runs, inside sweeps and last night's run the ball down your throat approach is really fun to watch.

Blankenship had a breakthrough game to go along with his strong Akron performance bodes well for next season. Having both him and Boykin for 2 more years in the offense and several fresh on the rise could make the RB position more loaded in 2012 than it has been for a long time.

I also think that it was impressive that we put up 43 points, and over 500 yards when Tettleton was clearly off the mark. He generally misses a couple throws, but he seemed all over the place yesterday.

I agree our offense got things rolling, but I'm concerned about our defense, especially pass coverage. We looked bad, and we got downright lucky at least three times (I lost count) where CMU receivers just plain dropped easy catches. Several of those drop would have been for first downs and kept CMU alive. And in all of those cases the receivers were wide open.

I think we got a little bit lucky last night. Not to say we would not have won anyway, but it could have been much closer.

While I agree that we did not play the best in all three phases, I was quite happy to come away with a double digit win, on the road, against a team that has had our number for about a decade.  To be honest I was a little uneasy going into this game, nervous of a potential let down.  Our pass rush (or lack thereof) was probably the most troubling aspect of the game for me as it seemed like the CMU QB had time to tie his shoes, read the paper, eat a sandwich, and then throw the pass.

It has to be hard for both teams to play fired up when you are only competing in front of about 1,000 people.  I bet for many of the players that was the smallest crowd they had played in front of since Junior High.  Given the cold weather and recent history against the Chips a solid effort again from the Bobcats.  Does anyone know if ESPN deliberately uses camera angles to minimize how often the empty stands are shown when they broadcast games with such a low turnout as last night?  Do most of the CMU fans all sit on the same side as the press box?

Let's make our next trip up I-75 even more successful!

Man....I was all over the place with this game. I agree - pass rush has to get better. Period.

Keep in mind that BG is 5th in passing offense and 10th in rushing offense. Losing to them would just be a lack of focus by the team.

Penalties were driving me crazy last night not to mention the clown show referees. I wish I could be that bad and still have a job.

I've noticed throughout the year that many of Ohio's missed tackles are due to players trying to strip the football instead of using good technique in wrapping up the ballcarrier.

There are times when there is merit to this argument, but certainly not when the opponent scores 40+ points.

Buffalo scored 38. Buffalo lost by 1 against NIU so I think we could stack up well with NIU or Toledo.
