After reading all the recent articles and camp stuff I can't help but be optimistic.
I believe if we can remain healthy and win the turnover battle we should have a very good year.
We have the key players on offense and the D looks like they are ready to perform how they ended last year.
A double digit win total is not out of the question this year.
Let's get it on.

In order to have double-digit wins during the regular season this year, we'll need to win a true road game vs an OOC opponent. That hasn't happened since 2017 when we won at UMass 58-50. Since then we've lost at Cincy in 208 (UVA was played at a neutral site), Pitt and T'erd in 2019, Louisiana and NWern in 2021 and PennSt and IowaSt last year (no OOC games in 2020). SDSU and FAU won't be pushovers this season, but it's better than having two "P"s on the road. We might need at least another 7-1 MAC season just to have a shot at ten wins including post-season.

I like how the non-conference shapes up. The games against San Diego and FAU are what i see as perfect non-conference games: at least we have a shot to win but i think they will be at the least very good games to improve. We may lose to either school but barring self-inflicted wounds we should compete and grow against those schools without taking it on the chin like we did last year VS Penn State.
I pray this is the year we destroy the FCS non-conference opponent which we should and Iowa State isnt in the greatest shape right now with that QB issue and playing on the road. The Bobcats weren't competitive against Iowa State last year because of self-inflicted wounds. With Ohio at home, this could be very different, especially if we have a non-rusty Rourke.
Also, I may regret saying this but if we get Rourke back I like we have BG and Kent earlier in the schedule as both will be looking to find its offenses early but have some talent to cause problems later in the season. Kent State has no returning offensive line and BG is looking for a QB

I'm still concerned about Rourke's health early in the season. He did not come back from injury well in 2021. I like our chances in the conference since many of the good teams were hurt by the portal. I could see this team going 1-3 OOC and looking sluggish early in the conference yet cruising into Detroit with momentum for the championship.
