Rourke is on the Maxwell watch list. I don't think that's any surprise. I think there were 84 players named in total. Most, of course, are from power 5 programs. Dequan Finn is also on the list. Other MAC players are Alex Adams, Marquez Cooper, and Samson Evans

G5 players have to consider it an honor just be on the watch list.. Unless you consider ND to be non-"P" (technically,, they are) the last player from a G4 school to win it was BYU's Ty Detmer who won in 1980. Even then, the last ND player to win it was Manti Te'o in 2012. G5 players have to put up insane numbers just to be a finalist.

Does Rourke have any eligibility left after this season?

It will be interesting to see what he does. It is a good bet that he'll have his master's degree before next season though I obviously don't know the details of that. It is highly probable that he can at least go to the CFL whenever he wants and if he stays in college that some P5 will offer more NIL money. So the answer is yes but it is hard to put odds on the chances of him playing for the Bobcats.

Wiglusz is on the Biletnikof watchlist for WR.

Ohio has nobody on the Mackey (TE), Groza (K), Guy (P), Remington (C), Outland (lineman), Nagurski (defense), Hornung (versatility). Maybe Titsworth not on the Remington is the only place we could have really hoped for another nominee. Several more major awards are still to announce their watchlist.

Rourke is also on the O'Brien watch list that came out this morning. That is one of several awards for best quarterback.

For anyone looking for a great college football podcast, check out Split Zone Duo. They just did their MAC preview and co-host Richard Johnson, who also writes for Sports Illustrated, is really high on Rourke. Thinks he could be the next QB in the MAC to do big things.

All of those guys you named are deserving and do the MAC proud. I love the MAC for a number of reasons including blue collar, hard-working dudes and Marquez Cooper at 5'6" is a great example. Adams should pile up the stats with Akron and DJ Irons.

Rourke was named to the Walter Camp Award watchlist, which, like the Maxwell, is for player of the year.

In similar news Bangura did make the Doak Walker watchlist for running back. Ohio had nobody on the Thorpe (DB), Butkus (LB), Guy (P), or Groza (K)
