I thought this article and more specifically Coach Clawson's quotes (and he's not the first opposing Coach to express such thoughts) , really exemplified how far OUr program has come under Coach Solich's guidance.  It's also a stark reminder of how thankful we all should be...

Nearly every coach says similar things each week on the MAC teleconference whenever their team is playing Ohio. The big thing they bring up is the continuity of the coaching staff and how much it means that it's basically the same coaches every year. All of them have high praise for Solich and the rest of the staff.

From my perspective coach Solich was one of O.U.'s best "gets" .
His impact on the football program will be apparent long after he stops coaching.Which hopefully won't be for several more years.

After the Rutgers game several of my friends called me,not to gloat, but to say how much OUr program had improved since the last time we played them. They felt that if it wasn't for a few bad breaks we would have won.

They  were very complimentary of coach Solich and said we should be gratefull  to have him as OUr coach.

Several of them also said that they wished R.U.'s coaching staff took the same "slow and steady" approach to their program.

There's a reason some of us still refer to the day that Frank Solich was officially announced as Ohio's new coach as "Holy Thursday"!

I force myself to remember the football situations that existed in the past at OHIO. That is all it takes to appreciate what Solich has done for this University. To be able to meet many friends and alumni for tailgates and enjoy a winning program is something I enjoy more than the average fan would realize. I still get caught up in a loss sometimes that sends me off the reservation but that’s me. Last night I realize that I officially wasn’t as interested in an OHIO Basketball Game given the excitement Football is providing right now. To me, that is how it should be at OHIO. Good Football ALL season long leading into good basketball! Why not have both? We have all the checks an athlete could ask for not to mention the indoor facility in the plan. Can’t wait for tonight!

I've been attending games since 1986.  Used to go to games praying we would win.  Now I go expecting to win and look good doing it.  It is nice to see how our expectations have risen.  We moan about things now that we could of only dreamt about before.  Sure is nice...Thanks Coach Solich!

I can foresee a time when the Bobcats will be playing on Solich Field at Peden Stadium.
