NICE!

Hopefully none of them are required to play too long...

Who was it that was posting Neal would require further repair of the knee before returning?

I can't remember; it was probably posted sometime between Kent and Beefalo if I had to guess.  But here's to hoping that he's 100%

This is what Frank said about it. I don't think Neal will be 100 percent yet, but it sounds like they just want to get him some reps to get him ready for the last few games:

“Neal should be able to play some. He’s practicing this week. Just how many snaps and how that will all go remains to be seen, but we’d like to get him on the field; we’d like to get him some snaps.”

“He was certainly with the top defensive performers on the line in the MAC with how he was performing early in the year. We thought that he was just going to have a great season. He’s definitely an All-MAC kind of player and so losing him hurt. Losing Carl at the same time hurt. We got Carl back a few weeks ago. He’s kind of rounding himself into more and more playing shape. Neal, it’s going to take a little time to get him in playing shape.”

As for the depth chart, it doesn't get updated much or very timely so I wouldn't take that to mean anything.

If it were up to me, I might err on the side of resting it one more week so he is ready for Miami...especially considering our easiest scenario to win the East stops at beating Miami.  But I trust the coaches and trainers to make the right call.

He must be darn near 100% for him to see the field this week. I am a little surprised this isn't a wait and see approach for Miami and the MAC Championship game but he is a difference maker when healthy. Wasn't he leading the team in tackles when he got injured? Unreal for a nose guard.

Seems a bit risky with the small travel squad if Neal reinjures his knee and/or a couple of other players goes down and he is forced to play more snaps than anticpated.  Neal has a lot of game experience and it would seem to make more sense to let him get reps in practice to test the knee and be ready to go for Miami.  Also a short turnaround between games.

Maybe Frank's trying to throw a monkey wrench into their running game plans and doesn't really intend to play him.

My hope for BGSU - get Phil Bates involved in the offense. Can't imagine he's happy with how his senior season is playing out.

It was unfortunate Phil missed spring practice due to injury.  I would have thought by now he would be in the mix more as a wide out.  Taking care of business the next couple of weeks and winning our first MAC Championship since 1968 would be a tremendous accomplishment for everybody within the  football program.

I watched BG and Northern Illinois. They were extremely vulnerable on the perimeter. My hope is for some jet sweeps with Bates and he can duplicate last year's performance against BG.
