Although a win would maybe give the Cats the division title (if Fiami were to lose to WMU Wednesday night), a loss wouldn't be the end of the world.  The only three-loss teams are Temps, Fiami and Kent.  Temps plays Kent on Black Friday, so a win over Fiami would put the Cats tied with the winner of Temps/Kent.  We have the tiebreaker over each of them.

That said, the Cats have momentum going with three wins in a row and need to keep it going.  They showed a lot of swagger (as opposed to cockiness) offensively against both Temps and CMU, and that's the real essence of this team.  At least during the MAC season, the Cats' fortunes have rested on the offense.  Although the D has done an admirable job, the offense has set the tone for each game.  When the offense sputters, the team has real problems.

BGSUcks will be looking for a low-scoring game.  They haven't scored more than 21 points since the Fiami game, with their only win during that time the 13-10 victory over Temps. Their biggest offensive weapon is their punter; he can help them win the field position battle at any time (had a 76-yarder vs. NIU).  BGSUcks relies on D, so the Cats' offense will need to bring its A game.

Ohio wins the east in 3 possible scenarios (about 69% chance):
1. If they beat Miami, regardless of any other game
2. If they beat BG, and MIami loses to WMU
3. If they beat BG and Temple beats Kent and BG beats Buffalo

BG wins the east if they win out, and Miami loses to WMU, but beats Ohio, and Kent beats Temple. (about 2% chance)

This is a game I think that we should win.  I think that we will have too many weapons for them to keep up.  Talent, coaching, and home field advantage don't concern me for this game.

What concerns me about this game is that it's in the middle of a streak of three games in 12 days.  I'd like to see us get a big halftime lead then be able to coast the second half, subbing in backups and underclassmen in to A)  get reps in a live game situation  B)  rest the starters for the Miami game.

Seems the backups are good enough to play throughout the game.  If Harden is well he should be strong from missing most of CMU.  Would be nice to put up another good rushing performance so Miami would feel the need to load the box, opening things up for the pass.  Mr. Bates is due for big play or two.

Arkley tweets from Solich press conference that Huynh, Foster and Harden should all be available this week.

Buffalo and Ball State were games we should have won as well. There is no such thing as a game "Ohio should win".

I disagree.  Those were games we should have won.  However, "should win" does NOT translate to will win.  Sometimes, teams get better breaks (Buffalo) or play mistake free (Ball State).  Heck, ask Boise State about "should win" games.  Not all of the balls bounce your way on every given night.

I think we're better than Bowling Green.  Even if they can score points on us, I don't think they can keep up (see Stanford-Oregon).  However, if you make mistakes and don't execute (see Boise State and Nevada last season/TCU this season) you will lose.

Given the seniors we have and the youth I have read that they have, I really like our chances vs BG.  I hope coach Solich wins the toss, takes the ball and tells the team to play like champions. At this point if Ohio is bowl worthy it won't be smoke and mirrors, it will be becaus they are that good, want it and take it.

I hope that Huynh is really okay to go if he plays.  Can't imagine we'd put him out there if he was not ready.

He's a game changer if he plays like he was earlier this year.

I think the focus is there for Ohio to pull this one out. I like the offensive numbers lately and see no reason that similar numbers can't be put up against BG.

Big game:  ESPN.  Our record loses luster if we don't get the W.  This will be something of a test of OUr maturity and leadership.

Last year, I had bad vibes going into the Kent game.  Don't feel that with this game.  Maybe it's because the team played so well at CMU coming off the Temps game (Kent was right after Temps last year).  Maybe it's because BGSUcks hasn't fired their coach (like Kent did last year -- fire, resign, whatever).  Maybe it's because this team seems to be so focused.  I like the quote from Blankenship after his huge performance at CMU: "This was a big game.  The next game is even bigger."  They seem to have it all together at the moment and aren't overlooking anyone.  Not like after Terd when they seemed to have a letdown.  Unlike Fiami, the Cats don't need to watch the scoreboard tomorrow night, so they can concentrate on the Falcons.  My only concern is BGSUcks had a couple more days to rest and prep, but I think the Cats can overcome that, especially if they get key players back on D.

We can win this game but I don't see it being easy.  We should know that we are not good enough to beat anyone if we don't bring it; see the end of last season and lapses early this year.

Based upon what has been stated by both the players & Frank it would appear that we are a focused and ready to close the season strong.
Now we just need to "DO IT"

I have on green sweats, green slippers and long sleeve OHIO T. Yuengling in fridge, kids about to say night night.

As for weeknight football...While Saturday afternoon at Peden is preferable to most things in life, there's something to be said about doing something naughty on a school night. Plus, Saturday is free and much more relaxing.
