Was listening to "The College Football Playbook" on Sirius (hosted by Mike Leach and Jack Arute) during lunch today.  They had Coach Solich on for a good 10 minutes.  After covering the fact that Coach had already wrapped up the MAC East, they touched on topics like midweek games supporting exposure but having their own challenges, the phenomenal level of QB play in the MAC, growing with the times (losing the Fullback and implementing the no huddle).  They also touched on some National topics like the front running meltdown in the BCS.

Coach Leach expressed a great deal of respect for Coach Solich (whom he knows well from Big 12 days) and for what he's accomplished at Ohio (noting the obvious recruiting benefits gleaned from long running coaching staff stability).

Outside of Arute announcing that we were slated to play Akron tomorrow night, it was very entertaining and it struck me as another layer in the foundation of a perennially competitive Ohio program.

Someone posted recently that he could foresee the Bobcats playing on Solich Field in Peden Stadium in the future...I truly hope that comes to pass!

I was at a truck stop today east of Cbus, when a trucker noticed my OU hat and commented on it. Turns out he was from Nebraska, and was listening to that interview. He congratulated me on a great season prior to parting ways. I thought it was pretty neat to talk to a total stranger from halfway across the country about a program he knows little about. Hats off to BA to provide me with some conversation tidbits.
