Here's a question...what number are you getting or would you get if you were getting one? I can't decide. I'm leaning toward 91...my graduation year. Or maybe 62. Having a hard time picking a number of a favorite current player. Too many. 4 works for offense and defense, though.

I was thinking either 5 (Brinker/Kalvin) or 62.

Does anyone know how quick these jerseys will be sent to customers? I want to buy one but I would like to have it for homecoming. If not, then I will probably pass.

When I ordered mine today I was told it would ship after the Temple game.

I went with 83 because of graduating class, but seriously considered 80, which was the year I first tasted Big Red Tomato pizza.

That's too bad. I'm cool with the price because I understand how expensive these things can be but to not even ship them for 5 weeks? That's crazy if you ask me.

It never ceases to amaze me how an innocent thread on BA can spiral down into such insanity, so I am sorry I started the thread, but guess someone else would have started it regardless.  It's the last time I plan to use "huzzah' in a thread, and am just thankful it didn't trigger the once annual, holier than thou, "grown men look gay wearing jerseys" commentary.

I'm going with "1", which I plan to have Frank and the team sign after they deliver a MACC and Bowl victory, and "89" for my graduation year, and for general game wearing, and looking foolish.

They should offer jerseys with interchangeable Velcro numbers. That would allow each person to change numbers based upon who is doing well that week.  Kind of like a Presidential Poll after a debate.

For example, if Beau Blankenship had a breakout game, SBH could remove the #83 and replace it with #22!

Running the risk of insider information, I was asked to give a little insight on the jersey issue:
--they are authentic gameday jerseys and Russell is providing them as a courtesy; regardless of the price issue, it is considered a courtesy to the football program

--as part of that courtesy, the usual 4-5 month production/receipt time Mort has for a jersey team order has been streamlined to about a quarter of the time (nope, I have no comment on what might be considered streamlined)

--come up with a more oblique Dangerfield reference, AG, I like 'em

But you would still have a chance to wear it to the Miami game and any other post-season games.

People, you are getting a customized, official, authentic jersey. It's not like going into Dicks and picking up a mass-produced Peyton Hillis cheapie. No need to complain about it taking awhile, although I understand someone wanting something so cool in their hands as fast as possible.

I got one too. As I later explained to my wife, when I got the email and saw they were selling the black jersey, I naturally assumed it was a cheap knockoff like they sell in the bookstores uptown. But then I saw the words "authentic" and "game day" in there. At that point, my pupils dilated and I blacked out. When I came to a few minutes later, I saw "Thank you for your purchase" on the screen and I learned I ordered one.

Oh, I chose #14 to honor Danny Miller. I used to pick on him when he came to games with his parents when Matt was kicking for OU (they sat in front of me). Great kid.

Order In!  I went with #13...

Not only was it the childhood jersey number of both my Wife and I but...

1 + 8 + 0 + 4 = 13

On a related note, incase anyone (like me) was concerned about the fact that they normally wear size 2X...I called the ticket office and they added 3X to the drop down...

Does anyone have a clue on sizing for these?

I'd hate to spend $180 and then not have the thing fit right.

Typically game jerseys are sized with numbers i.e size 44, 46, 48, 50, etc. but the drop down only has regular clothing sizes like S, M, L, XL.

Is there a rep you could call to try and gather measurements of some kind?

Thanks in advance.

That's another issue that's preventing me. Im leaning towards getting one despite all of my nay-saying from earlier. However, it makes me nervous because I used to be a solid XXL but recently lost some weight and mainly wear things in XL sizes now. I have an authentic NFL jersey that is a size 52 but I would like to know what size will work best for me.

I'm in.

I got an offensive lineman's number, because fat people like me should never wear a jersey number under 50. I've had official Browns jerseys before and I'd say move up at least one size from normal. The shoulders are going to be big no matter what, but that stomach is quite tight.

I won't wear it often, but it'll be cool to have and it supports the program.

My wonderful fiance, a Marshall grad, surprised me by ordering me a jersey with my number (#2) from my youth playing days.

I cannot wait to get the jersey. Sounds like it may be a while.

I am concerned with the sizing issue, too. I can wear a medium or large shirt depending on the maker. She ordered a large for me. I'm debating to see if I can change to an XL just because I would hate for her to pay that money and it doesn't fit me. Any thoughts on how others are going about choosing their size, especially if you're kind of in between sizes like me.

This is a great idea. My one MAJOR concern comes from the athletic department's description of the jersey as "tight fitting". These are not the NFL authentic jersey you get out in the public. Consider those as "authentic looking" and not actually "authentic".

Every homecoming, my high school carries on the tradition of providing teachers football jerseys to wear on the Friday before homecoming. For one whole day, I, the teacher wearing the jersey, am the most uncomfortable individual in the universe.

I assume the Ohio Athletic Department is dealing with the same sort of jersey as the high school I work for (the modern, tight fitting football jersey). When the athletic department says the jerseys are tight fitting, they are not fooling around. Expect tight on the arms, large in the shoulders, and you have to tuck it in because the jersey will fall to the typical adult's mid thigh (and they probably have the slits in the groin which are VERY unattractive.) So now you're walking around with this oddly proportioned jersey tucked into jeans or shorts. Lemme tell you...bad move for an adult male.

Personally, the kid's jersey I wore last Friday lasted 2 or 3 hours and it was off. I just about sweat my life out in that thing. I'm a fairly typically proportioned mid 30s adult male. I wore an offensive linemen's jersey...and XL...and had no space to move.

This appears to be a better gift for autographing and framing than wearing around town...or to a game.

PLUS (and seriously)...very few can actually pull off the look.

I don't want to dismiss those who want one. I think it would look cool in a collection in a study or a basement. Framed and autographed...as a wearable item? Not so much.

You're correct. I have two actual game-worn Browns jerseys with the exact fit you describe. You need to be ripped to pull it off. Division I and pro athletes often have broad shoulders and waists the size of toothpicks.  Their upper bodies are upside down triangles.

And I'd never, ever, never, never, ever tuck a jersey in.

I never thought about buying one I could wear.  Mine is getting framed.
