Ohio finished with a better record in football than O$U?  ESPN's standings go back only to 2002, and it ain't happened since then.

Good question.  It might have been back in the Cooper Era, or even farther back, I'm not sure.

I think you have to go even further back than that... Cooper's worst seasons were 6-6 in 99 (we were a disappointing 5-6, including loss to IAA N. Iowa) followed by 8-3 in 2000 (we went 7-4 and let's not discuss the Akron and Miami games that year). Tressels first season was a 7-6 campaign, which coincided with Brian Knorr's first year. We... uh... didn't do well that season.

DFC,  Yes, your facts indicate it was further back.

OK, one I know for sure is 1960:

Ohio 10-0
A&M  7-2

Why we played one more game than O$U that year I have no idea.

There may well be a time in the less distant past when we had a better record than the junior institution in Columbus, but I'm not sure when it was.

I looked and found that in 1966 OSU finished 4-5 while Ohio finished 5-5 - not as sexy as 1960, but I think this qualifies as the last time the Bobcats finished with a better record than the kids from Columbus.  Do I win?

El Gato, I don't know if you're the winner, but you are certainly now the front runner!

Its been 43 years since we last won our conference.
We have never won a bowl game.

eye on the prize people...eye on the prize.
It will be much more fun when we have hardware to wave in all the O$U faces.

I don't think any hardware gives us the right to wave in their faces, especially since we played scared, sloppy and stupid our last trip to columbus.

I hate o$U, but don't forget, they play in the Big Ten. We play in the MAC. It's pathetic that this hasn't happened more often. Let's not get a swelled head here. That's all I'm saying. They do have built in easy wins against Northwestern, Illinois etc. buy they would rule the MAC. Just saying.

They completely rule the Big Ten as it is.
