Earlier this season, I confessed that I was a Miami grad, who, after living in Athens County for five years, decided to buy the family pack season tickets.  I really love live sports, and the tickets were too cheap to pass up.

However, I must admit that I've grown quite fond of this team.  I was a neutral observer during the GW game; took a great deal of satisfaction vicariously during the Marshall game (remember- Miami's games with them got really heated and a coach was even arrested in Huntington for punching a fan).  I sat on the grassy knoll at the end of the Ball State game and watched the fg go just wide.  But, by the end of the Temple game, I was hooked and actually bought the basketball season ticket package.

Now, heading into tomorrow, I'm completely enveloped in cognitive dissonance.  I really wanted this game to mean something for somebody, because that would help me decide who to cheer for.  Maybe I'll just wear red, so that the espn cameras can show someone who is representing Oxford.  If the WMU and Akron games are any indication, they need me more than OU does.

Well let it pass this year. We've got two years to finish the brainwashing.

I'm glad you've been enjoying the games. It's been some good football. I think most here would agree - when the team you have been rooting for plays your own school, you have to wear your school colors. Ohio grads rooting for OSU should never root for OSU to beat Ohio. I root for Ohio most every game, but when the play Northwestern, I wear purple, and everyone here knows and expects that.

Don't worry, I am sure that dude from Oxford with the old school Redhawks helmet that was at the Ohio/Kant game last year rooting against the Cats will be there to embarrass Preppy Nation, taking the pressure off you to represent.

Wear Red...It's your school.  Then go to therapy and try to cope with that horrible decision you made as a 17 year old boy.

What is green on the inside and red on the outside??? You should wear Red to this game.  Hopefully tonight's game will help you with your demons and you can eventually move to an all green wardrobe :)

I received BS and MS from BG but I am now a BOBCAT (for lots of good reasons).  I had the opportunity a few years back to go to a BG-Ohio BB game at BG.  My good friend was a neighbor of Dackich and regularly sat behind the BG bench with Dackich family, etc.   Dackich asked (He was very nice about it, believe it or not) that I not wear green in that seat.  I complied.  I happened to have an old long sleeve t-shirt that said OHIO UNIVERSITY but the shirt was orange with blue letters (I might have been drinking when I first bought that shirt).  Anyhow it came in handy for that situation.

I think it's now called "indoctrination."  Or maybe "reprogramming."
