We will play Arkansas State in the GoDaddy! -- regardless if we win or lose the MACC.  Don't know if it's true, but that's a totally unfounded rumor that I'm taking the opportunity to spread here, so that everyone can be equally ignorant on the subject.

I want Mobile by a mile over the other 2 cities. I want the City of Detroit to prosper again but one trip there is enough for me. It's more how much I enjoyed Mobile vs not wanting to be in Detroit twice.

The only thing that gives credibility to this rumor is that MAC has done things like this before.  That is, they figured out bowl matchups in such a way as to render the MACC as meaningless in terms of getting to a better bowl or receving a better matchup.

Cleveland Plain Dealer is reporting that GoDaddy will probably take NIU.

That puts Ohio in either Boise or Detroit - I'm guessing Detroit, because they took Toledo last year and how likely would they take the same team two years in a row?

My work schedule will probably make the trip this year impossible........but anyone that has a chance to make this bowl needs to do so. Mobile makes this bowlweek a centerpiece in their calender.

Dauphne street is great and the parade should not be missed.

I will be Bobcat green with envy for all you that can make this trip.

They've taken teams in consecutive years before.  Also, if they could get a situation where a 6-6 Ohio State falls past the other B1G bowls and into their lap, I'm sure they would definitely consider Toledo for the rematch and perhaps sell out the joint (proximity of Toledo plus fanbase of that school in Columbus).

I read somewhere that the Gator Bowl is already trying to get Ohio State and Florida to play there, so who knows.

That's about as far down the B1G pecking order that I see osu falling. They will self-impose a bowl ban if they don't have a prettier dance partner.

On a side note, how awesome would it be if this match-up happens, Florida wears their all-orange unis, and Fickell recreates the Woody Hayes punch as a swan song?

Sadly, I see us going to Boise this year. If given the choice between us and Toledo, there's no way Detroit would pass up on the Rockets. Toledo in the game pretty much guarantees 10,000+ in additional ticket sales.

Boise would = no bowl for me. Can't get out of this city to Boise for less than $600. Joke.

I'd say the PD story has about the same credibility as my rumor.  That's about zero.

The worst part of all this? Both our green and black uniforms will clash with that blue field.

Elton didn't say how he arrived at his conclusion about NIU to Mobile. Did he ask a contact in the MAC Office or Northern Illinois? I have speculated such based on that NIU has never played in Mobile. Its going to be either Ohio or NIU to Mobile I'm fairly certain.
