L.C. has been staking his bobcatattack.com street cred on pointing to this season as when it all comes together for Bobcat football.

I sure hope he's king of the hill after this season.  If he's right, he deserves some sort of prize because this has been his call for about four or five years now, right?

I'm betting against it. Too many questions on defense and QB for me. Plus, I just can't get over the problems shown in the Kent and Troy games.

I'm a believer.

I keep having dreams of an Ohio team entering the ESPN Temple game week 9 a perfect 8-0 with talk of the top 25 building....  And campus is abuzz with Bobcat Fever.

Thanks, but it will be enough if I am right; there is no need for a special award. With the archives erased, I figure most people have forgotten that I pointed to this year a long time ago, and to the Penn State game next year as a huge game, and I wasn't going to bring it up anymore. I know that over the years I've taken a fair amount of heat and ridicule for those forecasts. Even if injuries prevent the Bobcats from doing as well as some of us think they can, I think that people can see the reasons why my forecast was never impossible.

I figure the biggest risks are the games at CMU and Rutgers, but the Bobcats can't focus on those, You go undefeated by winning them one at a time, and never expecting them to be easy.

Indeed I hope so. I haven't made arrangements yet, but I need to start looking at my schedule and find time to get there. I'd love to meet all the great people that post here, who have put up with me for all these years.

I'm an L.C. believer, too.

I hope you can make it to Athens.

Count me in. L.C. has always presented well researched posts. He can usually back up everything he says with facts.
That said, you had better be right L.C.!!!

Well, it has been a good season, but not quite up to my forecast. Even in retrospect, I still believe this quote - that it was never impossible. No team wins them all without a few key breaks at the right time. Rutgers, they needed some breaks, but Buffalo and Ball State could easily have gone the other way.

Good season, Bobcats. After a few days off, come back and win the MAC, and a bowl. There is still business to attend to.

I was at Rutgers, L.C.  We didn't need any breaks to win.  We needed not to fumble the ball deep in our own territory twice and give them easy T.D.s.  We also had a B.E. ref call against a MAC team that was second in "horribleness" only to the still reigning ESPN worst-of-the-worst Syracuse "extra point" review in their Toledo game.  The play I'm talking about was a defensive pass interference call against the Bobcats that occurred right in front of me.  It was the only play all game that I had a really good angle on from the horrible end zone seats we had.  It was the most obvious OFFENSIVE pass interference that I've ever seen.  The Rutgers player took both hands shoved the Ohio defender away and then turned the other way and caught the ball.  We had several long drives against RU, and it was clear we could play with them if we got an even break from the refs and we didn't have a bad case of fumbelitis.
