They say it was 14,155; I thought around 12,000.  Still, for a rainy, blustery, Tuesday night before Thanksgiving and during exams and with the division already won, I thought it was an enthusiastic, good-sized crowd.  Especially the student section.  Congratulations, folks, for making a good showing.  After seeing some of the other MAC crowds the last two weeks, it was great that Peden didn't look like nobody cared.

Looked decent and sounded great on TV.  In that weather, my hat is off to those who attended.  You were strong.

We've always said that winning would be the single best thing for changing the culture.  It could get crazy if we win a couple of more games this season...hello next year and semesters!  When will the Nelsonville bypass be completed?

I was pleasantly surprised when I got inside Peden before kickoff.  We are building something special when a crowd that big shows up with so many reasons not to.  It almost feels like a program now.

Most people in one spot on a Tuesday in Athens County -- ever.

The two crowds we have had for our ESPN games have blown away any other school in the MAC.  While other schools look like a joke with no one in the stands.... we are putting out very respectable crowds.

I thought the size of the crowd was respectable considering the circumstances.

Even better was the enthusiasm and noise of the crowd.  Good.

Athletic department marketed this game to local schools.  Many in attendance tonight had never attended an Ohio game before.

You are only counting MAC ESPN crowds on weeknight games right?

Mrs. Oldcat and I sat in the O Zone section right behind the bench never expecting so many enthusiastic students for an after finals Tuesday night game in a drenching rain. It was a great evening despite the rain at the "Crown Jewel of the MAC". Six in a row over Fiami. WOW! See all of you in Detroit?

I was thinking exactly the same thing.  No where near the announced 14,000 or 12,000 from a previous poster for that matter (closer to 6000) but at least it appeared that there was some interest in this game as opposed to the spartan crowds we saw in the other MAC games.  Lot's of air time for the band and even a casual mention of the number 1 party school in the nation.

Only one more season without the bypass - scheduled to open in exactly one year.  For safety reasons, it can't get here soon enough.

6K? No way. I think 10-11K is accurate.

About 10K, and not a ton lost at halftime or during the few denser rainfalls in the 2nd half.

I thought the number of students most surprising.  for 45 min before game time it had actually stopped raining but just at kickoff it started to drizzlemist.  Somewetime heavier sometimes stopping.  I think the players really appreciate the effort by fans with a showing like that.  Having that support be shown nationally doesn't hurt either.

Agree about the crowd.  I was REALLY pleased with the size and ENTHUSIASM.  I was going to sit in the OZONE behind the bench if it didn't fill up.  It did and I was glad to see it.  I thought the students having to be out of dorms by 6:00, many students leaving last week or prior to yesterday and the RAIN would mean a terrible crowd.  I think this shows that people are behind the team and coaches.  I had to congratulate the guys behind the bench with the paint on - great job to them!  GREAT NIGHT!    GREAT WIN!  NOW - EVERYBODY MAKE IT TO DETROIT!  Man- I'm still fired up - gonna ;watch the DVD a couple of times.  GO CATS.
(Hope we cover and tackle better in Detroit).
