Don Peden (Ohio) 122-46 .7112
Frank Solich (Nebraska/Ohio) 107-58 .6485
Bill Hess (Ohio) 107-92 .5370
Jim Grobe (Ohio/Wake Forest) 101-98 .5075
Carroll Widdoes (Ohio St./Ohio) 58-38 .5990

The question of where Frank ranks up against the great OHIO coaches is evolving after each successful season. I don't think you can argue Grobe did a better job in his time in Athens when Frank has 3 divisional titles. Frank also has a much higher winning percentage than Bill Hess and with a win in the MAC Championship will pass Hess in career win total. Frank finishes 11-3 and in 2012 goes 14-0 that will be enough to pass Don Peden in all time career wins. Now granted not all of Franks win's are at Ohio but if he can pull off an undefeated season in 2012 including a victory over Penn State something would have to be said of him as the greatest coach in Ohio history. Frank will need several more years at Ohio before he approaches the team win totals of Hess and Peden but there is one thing about longevity and and another about quality. About profile for the program. Solich's program is the main reason why the IPF is funded. He is the face of the program at OHIO.

There's little reason to doubt we'll have something with his name on it when this is all said and done.
