That is all.
Season ends as it began, with the O-Line yelling "Look Out!"

I think there was a lot working against the Cats in the first half, but it was internal and didn't have much to do with Fiami.  Third game in 12 days; some of them had exams today; they were playing waaaaay too cautious, trying not to get hurt for the MACC.  It seems that at halftime, the Cats decided they weren't going to let this one get away.  Even then, if Fiami had a halfway decent FG kicker, they might've had 10 pts in the 1st half, 13 after 3Qs (a QB punt from the OU 28????), and might've gone for a FG on that last drive.  The Cats overcame a lot tonight and were fortunate that Fiami isn't a better team.  If they play their best in Detroit, they can come away with the title.

So how many more years in a row do we need to win before we can stick our noses in the air and say this isn't a rivalry anymore?

Our record vs. Miami is 35-51-2

So we need 16 more.

The first half we played fairly vanilla on defense by rushing only the front four. In the second half and especailly at the end of the game we dialed up the stunts and blitzes that thoroughly confused a mentally and physically tired Fiami O line. Their hurry-up offense kept that line on the field a long time while we subbed on D freely keeping our guys fresh. Great defensive game plan. Their great QB kept them in it but their entire offense had to be very tired. More pressure on the QB caused some wide throws at the end. Our offense sputtered in the first half but the O-line kept adjusting and then took over in the second half. Cudos to Dante Harden who I observed thanking, encouraging, and congratulating the O line after coming off the field mid second half after a score. Nice touch!

I was thinking that the new rivalry would be Temps, if they stick around.  But then again, given we're 4-1 against them, the "rivalry" is a bit one-sided.

For football, Marshall rivalry > Miami rivalry hands down.

We play Marshall on Saturdays in front of full stadiums.  It is a true college football experience.

We now normally play Miami on weekdays and when both schools are basically closed.  Not a true college football experience.

Still fun to beat them though.

I heard Dysert scream back to a taunting Bobcat fan at the end of the game "Just watch, you'll be sitting on the couch watching me play on Sundays."  Dysert is good, but he also is apparently delusional.

If Brady Hoke had it his way, it would be Michigan.

Hey, there is always the UFL. He'll play infronts of tens of people!

But he's probably use to that at Miami.

Very sad, but true. Miami is hands down our #1 basketball rival (Akron and Kent would be close seconds).

On the other hand, the Miami football games tend to be largely irrelevant. It seems we always go in saying "it would be nice to win"...but there's not the urgency that should be there for a rivalry. Marshall, on the other hand, seems to inspire the best in all of us. Glad that series will be on the books for years to come!

One of the reasons that the Marshall series has become a more intense rivalry than Miami is that Marshall fans interact with us, taunt us, etc.  Gets the juices flowing.

No - you will be able to sit on your couch on Sundays and watch him play on EA Sports NCAA Football 10, 11, 12, and 13.......on XBox or PlayStation

Until I have an S-class Benz and kids in Miami have s**tboxes, its still a rivalry. This isn't about sports, never was.
