I don't think you should be calling JC by name on this message board. We already have enough problems with helicopter parents – don't need the Alpha Omega rolling through these parts...

I understand that some people may not be passionate about Christianity and enjoy laughing at a holy figure on a pogo stick, but the influence of Jesus Christ changed me so I don't find this funny. Before Christ, I was a person who was caught up in the empiness and temporary happiness that the influences like TV told me would last. Now, because of Jesus Christ, I live a life of security, confidence, and the desire to become a fan of people and serve them with the talents God gave me.

Good for you! Please pray for the rest of us who can see humor (another of God's gifts) in most everything.

Now back to football: Is it my imagination or do we nearly always have to come down to a defensive stand? Nail biters!

Yeah, I miss the beginning of the season when we drubbed NM State and Gardner-Webb. Of course, the 44-7 blowout over Marshall was great. Those kind of wins make you feel confident about your football team. Now, I'm thrilled we won the division on a last second field goal and that we held off that late Miami drive, but it doesn't make me feel confident. It worries me that we will play the same way against Northern Illinois (or Toledo) and against a bowl opponent and those better teams will embarass us. The good news is that weather will not be a factor at Ford Field.

LSU 9, ALA 6. Games that matter are usually close.  Enjoy that the Cats have arrived, the tension comes with the territory.

I think having close games is really good for the team, especially as prep for the MACC and the bowl game, where you're up against better teams.  You can't blow everybody out because of the balance that's developed in the MAC and because of the irregular scheduling of the final month.  The Cats had short weeks for the last two games, while BGSUcks had an extra two days to prep and Fiami had a more normal schedule (3 games in 13 days (the 2nd at home) instead of 3 games in 12, including two road games in 6 days).  You never really know the mettle of a team until they get into a close game.  The Cats showed a sense of urgency (a good thing) but no panic.  They should stack up well against their next two opponents, whoever they might be.
