Meyer takes over a program that is likely facing NCAA sanctions and was crippled by the forced resignation of coach Jim Tressel. The Buckeyes completed their only season under interim Luke Fickell with a 40-34 loss to Michigan on Saturday that snapped a seven-game winning streak to their rivals.

Wolverines coach Brady Hoke underplayed the role of the head coaches in the rivalry.

''I've known Urban, he's a good football coach, a good guy and I welcome him in,'' Hoke said on Monday. ''But it's still Michigan and Ohio and neither one of us is going to play the game.''

He's obviously ignoring the letter I sent him.

What's funny is that the following article talks about all the Meyer stops like Utah and Florida....these words are highlighted and when you click on them you go directly to a team site....when they talk about Hokes view he mentions the Michigan and Ohio rivalry....click on the Ohio and see where you end up:

Nice observation, Doc.  This is the type of confusion that they deserve.

This quote illustrates why a growing number of folks in Cincinnati, Toledo, Athens and other parts of the Buckeye state sometimes have problems with A&M: “We wanted a football coach who … will create an environment here with an aspiration for every single football player in the state of Ohio is to be a Buckeye and come to the Ohio State University and have no other thoughts,” Smith said.  Is that arrogant, or what?

Awesome. Rivals has it right, even if they did it by accident.

By extension of Hoke's verbal sloppiness, I guess his squad plays with itself when it travels to East Lansing.

This just in: Brady's last name is pronounced in "reverse Spanish" (think Jorge and have a few drinks).

The most insulting thing I have heard through the whole circus was yesterday morning on ESPN in a live interview with Kirk Herbstreit: (this is almost verbatim)

"I most equate this job (Ohio State) with Nick Saban's job at Alabama, where there is no other college football in the state."

So the pompous DB insults in one fell swoop: UC and every MAC school in Ohio plus all other FCS and D2/D3/junior college, PLUS the former National Champion Auburn Tigers and every other college in Alabama.

I know he isn't stupid, so this proves he is simply a condescending douche, and it's amazing he felt the need to move from Cbus to Nashville because he caught hell from tOSU fans who felt he wasn't enough of a homer that it supposedly made his life in Cowtown intolerable.
