We have a group of around 20 that is going to Cheli's on Adams St.  I tried to get a reservation, but they said they don't do that on game days.  We should be there around 4:00.  I just want slightly faster service than Athens BW's before a basketball game and I will be happy.

I'm coming up from Athens on the bus, and we're set to get to Detroit around 3:30. Any suggestions for close and good but cheap food? I've got to save my money in case this Boise trip actually happens... Last I checked, airline tickets were $600...

I was told there is a place right across the street from the stadium.  Does anyone know the name? I'm meeting a group there, but they didn't know the name of the establishment.  Thanks for your help.

If it's across from Ford Field, it's probably Elwood Bar & Grill. Hockeytown and Cheli's are closer to Comerica. Myself, if we make it in time, I'm thinkin....

I don't know where I'm going yet....but maybe we'll hit one of these places.

Do you guys go to the Bobcat Bash before the game?

I mentioned in the travel thread, my group has gone to the Detroit Beer Company everytime in Detroit.  Microbrews and decent food. 3/10 of a mile from Ford Field.  I'll be wearing green.

Hit up the Bucharest Grill inside of the Park Bar.  It's only a few blocks from Ford Field and it has some great ford that's cheap.

I'm going to head downtown as soon as I get off work and hit up my usual happy hour at Cafe D'Mongos for bit and then make my way toward Ford Field.  It's a nice laid back bar with no TVs or anything but they make some good drinks.
