However he still faces a level 1 violation by the NCAA for failure to cooperate. Personally would like to see mail him.

"In a notice of allegations, the NCAA alleged that the Wolverines had impermissible meetings with two recruits during a COVID-19 dead period, include texting a recruit outside of a contact period, and exceeding the NCAA’s limits for having coaches watch players work out over Zoom."

I'm certainly no Harbaugh guy, but what the hell are we even doing here?

You can back up a white van full of cash to these kids houses now, but YOU BETTER NOT TEXT THEM. And don't even TRY to get them on ZOOM.

The NCAA just wants the appearance of some bizarre control.

...

All of these seem consistent. Backing up a van full of cash is a benefit to the kids. Protecting them from excess contacts from coaches is a benefit to the kids. Protecting them from excess demands from coaches is a benefit to the kids. Sure, I could see the NCAA saying "OK, it's a quid pro quo. If the kids are going to be paid, they no longer deserve protection. From now on, they are going to have to put up with more texts, and they are going to have to work out in front of coaches as often as the coaches want", but they haven't.
