A North Face coat?  Did they assume Miami was going to get the bid?

Thanks for the link. If only we had made it to the Sun Bowl so the players could get the Helen of Troy hair dryer.

Just so we're clear:

Paying players: Bad
Giving players free stuff: Good

Found it interesting that the Champs Sports Bowl did not include any kind of gift card/shopping trip to.....Champs Sports?!  You would think that would be a lower cost prize for them?

Does anyone know what is involved in a "gift suite"?

Not sure what this "Gift Suite" is.  The "Sony Gift Suite" from a past bowl was 4 or 5 Sony products that you can choose from (one item only).

From the article:

"Gift suites are set up as private events in which game participants, and often bowl VIPs, are given an order form and allowed to select a gift, or gifts, up to a value that is predetermined by each specific bowl, not to exceed the NCAA limit of $550 per person."

As mentioned above, it's sort of a shopping spree, Sony seems to be the one that always does these.

They basically fill a hotel conference room full of crap to choose from, and the players walk through and write down what they want up to a certain amount.

I wonder how many Fossil watches and Josten rings will show up in the tills at Columbus area tattoo parlors this year.

My bad.  I've only heard of North Face until now.  It figures Ohio would get the product manufactured for corporate giveaways instead of the high end retail brand.

North Face is for girls who want to pretend like they're outdoorsy. That's 98% of their clientele.

Lets be gender-neutral here. I own some North Face stuff and I make Woody Allen look adventurous.
