Question, Ted. Is the Idaho potato famous or is the bowl game famous? Or both?

I'm going to say the Idaho Potato is famous. And the Bowl game is in honor of its famousness and not actually famous itself. I think it would be presumptuous for the Bowl to think itself famous.

This guy names the Top 5 funniest bowl games in his opinion and guess which one is #1? Also, he mentions what the BBVA means in the BBVA Compass Bowl if you do not know or if you really care, but I do find it interesting. Copy and paste the link below.

Bummer- We don't play to well when we are favored it seems: I guess our guys get fueled up when we are not favored, Feel like they've got something to prove, Either way I expect a close game and I'm excited to watch it! USU as a team feels like they've got something to prove by winning a bowl for the first time since 1993, They'll show up ready.

I think it's Idaho that's famous.  Like Famous Amos cookies.  I'd actually go to the Famous Amos Cookie Bowl.

Okay, let me say this and then I'll try to put the anger at last Friday behind me:  PLAY WITH GUSTO.  NO MORE FETAL POSITION.  LION, NOT TURTLE.  BRING IT.  KEEP OUR IDENTITY.  ALL WEAPONS ALL-ON ON OFFENSE.  DEFENSE BLITZ PACKAGES THAT YOU CAN'T STOP AND YOU DON'T RUN ON US.  BE WHO WE RE FOR 60 MINUTES.

Whats been hurting Utah State is their program has wandered in the desert looking for a stable conference home during that time period, which hurt recruiting. Ohio has played in the same league since 1968 and that has to be the longest stretch of time in one conference without a bowl win.

Does anyone know anything about the OU ticket allottment/commitment?

Even though I can't get to this game, the Tickets for Troops options sounds better than OUr just eating a pile of tickets.  Maybe I could do my part that way.

Two pretty evenly-matched teams:

Rush Yds

Pass Yds

Total Yds

Points

Turnovers

3d Down

Red Zone

Ohio Offense

206

251

457

31

27

48.4%

80%

USU Defense

128

240

368

28

15

35.4%

83%

Rush Yds

Red Zone

Ohio Defense

126

228

354

22

39.9%

USU Offense

278

Another game where the Cats need to stop the run on defense and not beat themselves on offense; USU isn't opportunistic on defense, so the Cats need to cut down on unforced errors.

Like others on this board I to am surprised by the line on this game.
Maybe it's because we lost the MACC game & I thought it would be closer to 7-10.
Maybe it's because of my concern relative to the teams state of mind after the MACC game.
I do want to hear some encouragment comming out of Athens that would lead me to believe the team has put the last game behind them and that they are pumped about next weeks game.
Obviously this game is huge for the program.

It's always interesting to watch the spreads as we get closer to game day.
This bowl game is no different.
It started out as US -3.5.
Today it's US -2.5.
The spread has only decreased this week.

Like others have said this opponent has a strong running game. Stop the run and we stop them.
We need to play without turnovers.
If we can accomplish these 2 tasks we will win this game.
While penalties can be a issue during the game I don't see them being the deciding factor like stopping the US running game and our elimination of turnovers.

As of this posting at least, no "winter weather events".

Wonder what happens to the Official Famous Potato Snowmobile Competitions if it doesn't snow?
