There have been alot of deserved accolades handed out since last nights victory. I did not hear a mention (maybe I missed it) of the continuous support of the administration. Frank has said more than once that his comfort is bolstered by the support of the administration starting with the President's office.
I believe the president has often come under fire for the money spent on athletics and football takes the most. You seethe persidents presenceon photos in the locker room and during games frequently. Without President McDavis there would be no Frank Solich and no football resurgence.
And as for the money, particularly football costs. Where else do you get 3 hours of advertisement for Ohio on a national ESPN channel 4 times in November this year and twice in December and now a long anticipated victory.
Opinions certainly vary but it makes me happy to see us successful in front of a national audience. Last time we won 10 games was my freshman year.

Unprovable and unknowable, but point taken.

Without McDavis and his staff Ohio would be Akron at best or New Mexico State

I hate to say you didn't even do that.

My impression is that McDavis got this party started. His commitment to athletics convinced Frank to come here. That's just what I've heard.

McDavis is very alone in Cutler Hall in his support for athletics. There's been turnover in other exec positions and it hasn't mattered.
And, even with his dogged support, athletics is forced to do strange things that other schools simply don't even do - stuff not on anyone's radar anywhere else.
When he retires, be afraid. Very afraid......
