What a fun seven years it has been watching Ohio football. As a husker solich fan it has been alot of close loses. What alot of heart the team showed today. Congrates and cant wait till next year. Hope I get to go to another game in athens.

Wouldn't it be cool if the Huskers were in Columbus for a game and the Bobcats at home for a night game the same day?

I don't think the ref meant anything by it. It's easy to make something out of it, but once you turn 40 or 50 all college students are seen as boys. He just meant young - nothing racist was intended - I'm sure.

Wrong in so many different ways. Glad to see they took the time out from the big time to officiate our boys. You going to call a college athlete a boy you better be pushing 75 years of age

Frank was my grade school gym teacher more than 40 years ago in his first job out of college. He's had a lot of great successes in his life, and I'm glad to see him add to that list Ohio's first ever bowl win. I am sure it means a lot to him. Next year, Mac Championship!

I think he used a poor choice of words. The way he handled that whole sequence, that seems to be the least of his problems.

Solich is a nice man, very humble. Must be great having those memories of him from your youth.

So glad he got another opportunity to coach at OU. He has been terrific

Wait, was this the sequence where the play was a touchdown, then overturned, then a touchdown again only to be overturned yet again because they really didn't know what was going on?

This SEC officiating crew actually made me miss MAC refs.

The handling of that play was horrific, especially the communications of it. And to show I'm not a homer, the helmet-to-helmet call on the USU defender vs. Brazill was a bad one. The defender had his head lowered and Brazill lowered his helmet right into it. Anyway, let's spend more time congratulating the Cats vs. complaining about things we can't control! Nice job overcoming that terrible last minute call!

I thought that the helmet to helmet was a good call.  Yes, OUr guy lowered his helmet...as guys with the ball usually do before contact.  Their guy led with his head.

The bad call, but good for us, was the face mask in the third quarter.  I don't think their guy did much more than touch TT's facemask.

Not to pick nits, but wasn't that play Harden? I thought it was a poor call, as well.

what happened to Boykin? I can't remember the last time I've seen him in a game. Also, any word about who wore 62? I didn't see it last night or hear the announcers mention it.

Monroe, there were actually two face mask violations on that play -- the tickytacky one you refer to and a much more blatant one a few seconds later in the middle of the developing pile that you could barely see on the replay. I believe that was the one that was called.

I wonder if nobody did this game. If you look on ohiobobcats.com on the freeze frame picture for the recap video of this game, they are holding the #62 jersey in their hands celebrating. Seems very fitting.

You are correct, nobody wore #62 last night.

From the Game Notes:

REMEMBERING MARCELLIS
This past April, former Ohio University defensive
lineman Marcellis Williamson passed away. This season
the Bobcats will honor their fallen teammate by having
one player wear his number 62 jersey in every game
this season. Tremayne Scott (New Mexico State), Carl
Jones (Gardner-Webb), Neal Huynh (Marshall), Curtis
Meyers (Rutgers), Corey Hasting (Kent State), Nic Barber
(Buffalo), Jef  King (Ball State), Kendrick Davis (Akron),
Noah Keller (Temple), Jelani Woseley (Central Michigan)
and Eric Benjamin (Bowling Green), Paul Hershey
(Miami) and Brian Albrecht (Northern Illinois) have all
worn Williamson’s old jersey this season
