Stoked for that game. You know the nation will have eyes on it, although for reasons that have nothing to do with us.

I was thumbing through PSU's roster the other day.  They lose only 13 seniors this year from a 9-4 team.  Both starting QBs, their top RB and 2nd & 3rd best receivers all return (assuming they stick around).  If they put aside all the crap that's surrounding the program, they'll be tough.

And speaking of Penn State: just for kicks today I looked for hotels, and nearly 2/3rd of the hotels are booked in and around State College already.  I promptly booked a hotel room for the weekend.

I think early season Ohio could have beaten Penn State this past year.  Next year will be tough, but it would be a monumental step in the right direction.

What scares me about Penn State next year is they will be an unknown commodity.

...with a new coach fresh from the NFL. Kind of reminds me of Pittsburgh in 2005 in that respect.

We can certainly hope for a similar result. We played Pitt as game #2 when our coach was brand new as well. I don't know if it's better or worse to be their first game. Opening day visitors don't fare well at Beaver stadium.

Seriously, though, some of the comparisons are apt. Yes, we won't know for sure what offense or defenses they might be running, so we'll have to prepare for everything, but the flip side is that they won't have any experience running them in a live game, either, so they will make some mistakes. I expect Ohio to be perhaps a 2 TD underdog, but to make a game of it. We can also hope that, like the 2005 game, this garners enough national interest that it ends up on national TV.
