Eh. Don't know much about Bowden, but from a primary (Non-OSU) source, Jim Tressel is a good guy overall.

What bothers me about Tressel is that he lied, he knew what was going on and that it wasn't  within the rules, and he did not report these offenses.
Doesn't integrity count any more?
Doesn't personal responsibility count?
Doesn't this issue tell us about a person?
I'm all for forgiveness, however, how can people say someone is a good person if they don't follow the rules and they hurt themselves, others , and the institution they represent?
Then another like institution hires this individual.
What does that tell you about this institution?
The answer to each of me questions is for each of us to decide for ourselves.

The cynic in me wonders if Tressel, having been a public employee for many years in Ohio, is looking to ensure his state pension at some level by working for another state institution.  You wouldn't think it would be an issue but I remember reading the docs associated with Huggins leaving UC and there was a lot of concern over his retirement beneifts in those.

Media reports up here stated that his state pension was already earned - no worries there.

This is a publicity stunt by Akron.  I have a feeling we'll read that the deal isn't renewed next year or the year after. Even some Akron fans are puzzled and even a bit embarrassed by it.
