Here is a list of names that TMD has been able to verify are committed to different MAC schools in the past 24 hours. Temple may have done the best, but it's a long time before we'll have a definitive answer. http://themacdaily.com/?p=432

Umm, not such good info on Ohio, sorry. Sprague did commit, but as a preferred walkon. Tanner is a commit, but he gave the verbal on December 14th, so he's hardly a last minute deal. If you want the last minute info, try Trea Clark, Davon Henry, Mike Roberts, Diamonte Wiggins, and Sebastian Smith. Roger Lewis also would be included, but there are some recent developments that probably make that moot.

Frank also said, at the LOI signing event this evening at Peden that there might be one more signee to come. He gave no further details and the way he stressed the word might, I'd put this as at best a 50/50 proposition.  I'm hoping for road grader RB!

Also, it was interesting that nearly every assistant coach stressed the fact that many of the players were good students with high-grade point averages and were of good character.  I don't think we're taking barroom brawlers and weed smokers anymore.  Words like, "smart,"  "good student," "excellent academics,"  "good leader," "high grade point average," and in one case "high school academic all-American" just seemed to roll off the lips of the coaches as they spoke. It made this old professor proud.

There were also at least three players who the coaches reported had had one or more BCS offers.  One player, Sebastian Smith, the recruiting coach specifically said had had a B1G offer.  However, it was probably just Northwestern, so it should have an * after it.  ( L.C., sorry but I couldn't resist.)

Shh  .  .  .  don't tell L.C. but that's even less meaningful than an offer from NW.

Maybe the potential late signee is Lewis?

Possible, but only if Frank is convinced that he's not a problem child.  There seems to be a real emphasis this year in getting real STUDENT-athletes who are not going to have off-the-field issues.  I understand that some folks that know Lewis think he's been kind of framed in this legal situation and that he's innocent.  If he's the mystery late signee, I certainly hope he's a guy of good character.  Otherwise, let him enroll at Akron.

P.S. If Akron won't take a problem child, a rap sheet signee would be a no barrier at Oxford Tech or Temple.
