Bobcat Love has to love this list of opponents:

http://www.ohiobobcats.com/sports/m-footbl/archive/021512aaa.html

Maybe this should have been part of the recent survey from the AD.

I've said it until I'm blue in the face, but that home slate is despicable for a team that's been to 3 FBS Conference Championship games the past 6 seasons, and 4 bowl games in those same 6 seasons.

I love the job Frank and Schaus have done with the football program, but this schedule is a pure slap in the face, and has been since it was announced 4 years ago when I began ranting about it.

You want to raise money for an IPF, facilities, and other upgrades to the program - yet you receive to give anything back to the fans in terms of upgrading the national profile? I'm sorry, I can't buy into this.

Reminds me of the Sandbaggers in the Country Club Member-Guest Tournament. Nobody respects those people. Just like the complete debacle that has been our scheduling the past (and future) few years.

It's a g-damn joke, and every single person on this site knows it.

Pay for seatbacks to watch Idaho, Austin Peay, and a Mid American Conference slate that worsens every year? I'd rather light the money on fire. There's your survey.

This is no different than how BCS teams schedule.  It's the model that builds experience for the 3 deep, program success and bowl eligibility.  Until the rules / requirements are changed I see no reason to not take advantage of the system.  It's part of the reason OUr program is where it is today.

Why is this news? The only thing here we didn't already know years ago is Austin Peay is the I-AA opponent in 2014.

I see there should be 7 home games in 2013. I wonder, is that the first time ever? Also, I see no one on the schedule in 2013-2015 that Ohio couldn't beat, if things go right.

Love, playing Devil's Advocate, couldn't Schaus/Solich respond with:

- What have we done for the fan base with THIS schedule? How about we have given them 3 FBS Championship games and 4 Bowl appearances in the last 6 seasons. Please name for us the last AD/Head Football Coach combo who have produced those type results in OHIO's history?

- How has fund raising gone with THIS schedule? How about receiving the single LARGEST MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR donation in OHIO's history EXCLUSIVE to the OHIO Athletic Department funding approximately 80%+ of the monies needed for the construction of an IPF. We feel the Alumni have been more willing to graciously donate funds to OHIO based on the fact that we have given them multi-win seasons, producing 3 FBS championship games and 4 Bowl games over the last 6 years and that the home OCC schedule has NOT been an issue in influencing the majority of our alumni who have chosen to donate to OHIO athletics.

- How has THIS schedule impacted recruiting? We feel recruits have been more impressed and have shown more interest in attending OHIO because we feel they are more impacted by the possibility of playing a Southern Miss in a GMAC type bowl in Mobile in January than they would be with playing a Minnesota/Iowa State/UConn type @ Peden in September. Our most recent recruiting class, being championed by some "experts" as THE HIGHEST rated under Coach Solich, was attained with THIS schedule. We feel these recruits were particularly drawn to OHIO based on the results of our MARSHALL victory and our bowl victory in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

I've said it until I'm blue in the face and so are we, but that home slate is despicable for a team that's been to 3 FBS Conference Championship games the past 6 seasons, and 4 bowl games in those same 6 seasons.  Scheds are made out way in advance.  Now you know we're totally solid and have appeal--that history wasn't so when scheds were made.

I love the job Frank and Schaus have done with the football program, but this schedule is a pure slap in the face, and has been since it was announced 4 years ago when I began ranting about it.  Did you know that Peden holds only 25k?  Do you know economics/Appalachia and the dollar?  Apparently you don't know all of these--not at the same time, anyway.

You want to raise money for an IPF, facilities, and other upgrades to the program - yet you receive to give anything back to the fans in terms of upgrading the national profile? I'm sorry, I can't buy into this.  Okay.

Reminds me of the Sandbaggers in the Country Club Member-Guest Tournament. Nobody respects those people. Thank you for that widely known and understood comparison.  Just like the complete debacle that has been our scheduling the past (and future) few years.

It's a g-damn joke, and every single person on this site knows it.   Really?

When was the last time we beat a BCS opponent? Glad to see we try every year, though. Interesting that after P.S., we have three lower tier programs.

Not real happy about the FCS teams, I don't think you should be able to cross divisions at all though. Would be nice to fill that slot with the occasional Sunbelt-CUSA-BCS team. I've never really felt you take anything away from these fcs games. Unless you are Michigan.

Overall I am content with the OOC schedule. We pencil in a few challenges, and a clunker. Doesn't everybody?

What do you want? To begin one-sided "rivalries" with WVU, Ohio State and Penn State? What good is that? Will there still be complaining if Penn State is ranked, and Marshall and NM State (with that new coach) make thier conference champ games at the end of the season? I'd be thrilled!  Who knows what will change in the future?

Aaron, as you know, as to scheduling, choices stand to be made.  Ohio could, for example, schedule as does Miami - and be wallowing in abjectness.  Or Ohio could continue to schedule as it is and be a program on the rise.

When I visit my hometown - OSU "territory" to be sure - folks nowadays are offering up unsolicited praise for Ohio.  They don't condition their praise with comments on Ohio's scheduling.

I'm just stating facts to demonstrate the MAC East is not competitive in the FBS. The gap will widen considerably for those not included in the super conference grab. That means YOU.

Perhaps, the sample does not provide sufficient representation of the FBS to draw such a conclusion.  I suspect most  of games were against top FBS programs buying wins against teams they hoped to scrimmage against before their tougher conference games.  $$$$$ games for the MAC teams to be sure.  Now if the sample somehow is proven to be representative of the FBS, never mind.

Though I would prefer to enter the Big East because it recreates natural geographical rivalries, Im delighted to know
"]["emple has retained the option to join the Big America Conference. It's a certainty the BAC will sign a very lucrative television deall for the only conference which will encompass all the time zones across the United States.
