Sources: Ohio University star quarterback Kurtis Rourke will start the season opener at San Diego State in Week 0 on Saturday. He tore his ACL in November of 2022, ending a season that saw him win the MAC Offensive Player of the Year.

Sounds like at the Press Conference he is passing off the decision until after Tuesday practice. I would be shocked at this point if he plays the first few weeks. I expect CJ to start but I am reading between the lines and making a wild uneducated guess.
I spoke wildly. #7 QB 1 on Saturday!

I hate how we must continue the injury watch. So we hear he was just in concussion protocol this past week, did we confirm this concussion was from practice? So the 10 day period will pass in plenty of time for FAU and he should be good to go?

He was concussed during the San Diego State game.

These silly injury reporting games are disappointing. Latest example is the Adonis Williams, Jr. injury. Clearly a leg injury, yet TA reports after the game that Adonis was "alert" in the training room, as if he'd suffered a concussion.

It looks like we can never expect anything resembling the truth about injuries at Ohio. We just have to live without it, but it’s so frustrating not knowing what to expect when you show up to watch or listen to a game. So yesterday there’s a press conference where we’re basically told that we won’t know anything new until after the afternoon practice. Why not have the press conference after the practice then or release a statement after the practice if we’re waiting for that.

I guess my frustration is that we’re getting the “ we expect them to practice and play” rather than we don’t know right now, but will let you know after practice today.

Pretty sure Adonis has a concussion. He got knocked out.

At one time OhioHealth Sports Medicine at Grant downtown handled these types of injuries for Ohio Athletics. Maybe it’s changed but if I’m guessing that’s probably where he went.
It's all handled locally now. Still Ohio Health, but they do not have to go to Columbus anymore.

I guess I can appreciate the strategy behind keeping your opponents guessing, but it is frustrated to get essentially bold faced lies.

I thought that when he went down that he got knocked out or possibly had a very serious injury. Then after he was clearly awake and moving and the trainer attention seemed to turn to his leg and they kept weight off of his leg getting him on the cart.

Perhaps he was so woozy that they didn't want him to even try to stand and the frustration he seemed to show on the cart while covering his face and shaking his head was just him trying to shake off some cobwebs.

I think it was an ill-advised attempt at his brother's duck-and-escape move that was all the football rage a week prior.

I was sitting on the hill when it happened and it didn't look good. I saw him coming in to make the tackle and instead he took a thigh/knee to the head. He just laid there and didn't move a muscle for a minute or two. I hope he'll be ok but it's hard to see injuries like that and not think about the players in the past that didn't get to play again.
