So we are a day out and nobody knows if Rourke can run or has even attempted to practice at all yet? Sheesh do we even have media people anymore.

This morning, The Bobcat Report on Power 105 said we would find out on the pregame show.

Well, that's unfortunate. Where did you hear it? We might still beat BG without him. Toledo is completely different.

Why would Toledo be different? They’re in worse shape than a lot of teams are right now. They’re limping into the MACC with injuries to both their #1 QB Finn (ankle and shoulder) and #2 QB Gleason (broken hand), and in the last month have lost to both UB and BG, and barely got past EMU and BSU in that stretch. This is not the same Toledo team it was the first half of the year.

I'll give Bowling Green their win over Marshall. That might have been the ultimate trap game for Marshall but Marshall is a good team and they beat them. But when I look at Bowling Green I see a bottom 20 team in the FBS that has been blown out by upper division MAC teams when they play them at near full strength and has been unbelievably fortunate to eek out close wins against several MAC teams that were at their weakest point of the season injury wise. This isn't to say that we haven't had our share of breaks. The whole MAC is probably fortunate that the preseason favorite NIU has had their season destroyed by key injuries. But BG could catch Ohio tonight, yet again, at their weakest point injury wise all year and eek out a win. If that happens they might luck out and win the MAC. They'll have the trophy. They'll have earned it. But that should not change anyone's perception of them much either way. They are still a very bad team by overall FBS standards and we should be favored to beat them with OUr third string QB.

Toledo isn't a bad team. They a pretty good by normal MAC standards and they will have had the ability to rest people the last few weeks of the season. They should be healthier come championship Saturday. So what's the difference? Its pretty basic. The difference is between playing a bad team at home and playing a pretty good one on a neutral field. Toledo would have been favored to beat us under that condition if Rourke is close to 100%. If the world learns he might be out for the year as Andrew is indicating we might be a double digit underdog. I'd expect about 10 points depending a lot on how CJ looks tonight. Now, that certainly doesn't mean we can't win. Double digit underdogs do occasionally win. I think we would be about an 11.5 or 12 point favorite tonight if Rourke had not been injured so we might be have about the same chance to beat Toledo as BG would have had tonight if Rourke had not gotten hurt. I would not have been counting OUr MAC East chickens before they hatched even if Rourke were playing but I would have been feeling pretty good about it. But, obviously, the opposite is true against Toledo. There isn't reason to give up hope but pulling off two wins in a row without him is becoming unlikely.

You know how it is with unreleased info...but I do trust the info. I heard he already had ACL surgery late last week.

This does not jibe with what I heard a few days ago that his knee was "structurally sound." Your information may be right. Who knows what to believe.

I don't know if we can 100% trust the reports of him waking around campus without crutches or assistance but if he were in need of surgery or had it the prior day or two our training staff would have tried to prevent that from happening.

ACL??? That would be complete news to me as well as I heard it was a mild sprain. I'm not shooting down the info but that would certainly go against anything I was told as well or what we were informed of thus far. I mean less than a week ago Albin made it sound like they expected to know what grade the sprain was and if he would be cleared to play. And I know injuries can happen in strange ways but if that push on his shoulder caused him to tear an ACL on the play we all saw I would be beyond shocked. Heck, with all the different info swirling around, I'm now convinced he's going to play tonight at this rate.

Vegas is still at -7 -- my guess is they would know if he wasn't playing and the spread would have moved much lower.

I agree and hope it's bad info. But - I think the sightings of walking around on it and the optimistic coach speak was all mid-week / theoretically before this supposed procedure would have taken place just before the weekend. Anyone seen him since Friday? I also agree the impact of that play didn't seem like much, but remember his pain was palpable. My buddy tore his literally bending over to field a routine groundball last fall. It is often not a heinous looking injury.

As for Vegas, I think -6.5 was with Rourke out from the beginning. Would've been double digits otherwise.

My issue with this isn't that the injury seems far-fetched or out of line from what I thought in the immediate moments after the injury, my questioning is the statement that he already had ACL surgery last week. Even my quick googling paired with what I recall of NFL players suffering injuries is that the surgery comes weeks after the injury, after swelling has come down. I'd love to have a medical professional answer this, but I highly doubt an ACL surgery would occur in the hours after the injury. If it was performed last week, that means that it would've been done in the 72 or so hours following the injury. That seems highly skeptical.

IIRC, Rourke had already seen the doctor before Albin's presser where Albin said Rourke had a follow up appointment. Albin said in the presser they were waiting on the grade (where he gave examples of knee sprain grades) and said he would know more by Friday. He said there was no swelling and he was walking without crutches. That doesn't sound like anything AC:L related. Now I agree, it's been very quiet since then, but that doesn't mean anything either. I'm not knocking your info, but it just doesn't seem to add up based on what was shared already.

ACl talk seems excessive and unlikely to me. I am defiantly nervous about Rourke playing tonight however. Unfortunate injury luck but Roll Cats regardless. BG offense can be miserable so hopefully the defense has a strong game.

I don't think I've seen this many types of varying rumors flying around about a QB on here since Malik Zaire was allegedly headed to Ohio. And that turned out to be bogus.

Again I say, I do not blame the skepticism...but I will continue to defend the idea. It seems quite plausible that this is a non-traumatic tear with minimal swelling, as supported by Albin saying Wed there was no swelling. Piecing all our info together, I think the MRI scan revealed the ligament damage and they said the area appears ready for surgery and we can fit you in right away (with next fall in mind).

Keeping this info from the public could come down to wanting to keep BG guessing...or it could be as simple as we literally do not have anyone doing actual journalistic work on the Bobcats so no one with any credentials has asked / had anything to report and everyone else doesn't feel authorized to publicly give such news.

So, this begs the question: Who was your source? Obvously, we don't expect a name, but you haven't even given us anything as vague as "an informed source," or even "former equipment manager."

IMO, this is a little closer to what the spread would be if the bets were expecting Harris, harder to know but I think around 4 or 5, and if Rourke were 100% which I expect 11 or 12. I think Albin has managed to keep if we have 90% Rourke, extremely hobbled Rourke and Harris, or just Harris a good secret.
