Is UConn joining the MAC?  They have three games vs. MAC teams: UMass, WMU and Buffalo.  Also I wonder if the Pitt-Buffalo game is at Orchard Park.  Quite a few winnables here: Ohio-PSU; Toledo-Az; WMU-Illinois; Indiana-UMass; BSU-Indiana; WMU-Minn; UConn-WMU; Cincy-Toledo.  Wouldn't rule out Akron-Tenn or Kansas-NIU.

Aug. 30 – Thursday
UMass at Connecticut

Sep. 1 – Saturday
Bowling Green at Florida
Buffalo at Georgia
Iowa at Northern Illinois (at Soldier Field, Chicago, Ill.)
Miami at Ohio State

Toledo at Arizona
Western Michigan at Illinois

Sep. 8 – Saturday
Ball State at Clemson
Kent State at Kentucky
Indiana at UMass
Michigan State at Central Michigan

Sep. 15 – Saturday
Ball State at Indiana
Eastern Michigan at Purdue
UMass at Michigan
Western Michigan at Minnesota

Sep. 22 - Saturday

Eastern Michigan at Michigan State
Kansas at Northern Illinois
South Florida at Ball State

They played WMU and Buffalo last year, so those are return games.  They scheduled UMass to be their FCS opponent for the year some time back, and they just happened to join the MAC.  Also, UMass-UConn is an old FCS rivalry (the Minutemen lead the all-time series 36-33-2).  Might have to go to East Hartford for that one, since it is on my day off.

Nope, Buffalo has spurned convention and scheduled Pittsburgh for homecoming.  Should be a solid crowd for that one, I'd imagine.

I realize Michigan has a different coach and is a much better team now but I remember watching the scoreboard and  seeing that UMass was giving Michigan quite a scare in  2010. They won't be a surprise this year but UMass if I remember right wasn't  that good of a team that year .

Not sure why you picked Akron to stun Tennessee when a more logical pick would be Kent taking down Kentucky--if either MAC team has a chance, imo it would be Kent vs Akron.

Kent could take Kentucky.  But I'm seeing the Akron-Tenn game as a game that Bowden may be targeting.  He'd probably like to knock off an SEC team just for old times sake.
