In the Messenger, Arkley said that he was not participating in Spring Practice to focus on academics. Hadn't heard he was no longer on the team.

Looks like its official.

And lastly, HC Frank Solich confirmed Friday that CB Omar Leftwich no longer a member of the team. Academic casualty.

The student directory indicates that Omar no longer is a student.

It's sad when this happens, but grades are important, and really, I can't think of too many academic casualties over the years. On the whole, the players do a pretty good job in the classroom, I think.

Heard that he may be back for summer pending a medical appeal, not sure how they expect kids on serious pain medications and unable to walk to concentrate in class but sounds like someone goofed with the story I'm hearing.

Looking at the vids on ohiobobcats.com (coaches and players being interviewed), I'm pretty impressed with OUr lads.  Quite well spoken...brainpower there.

A year ago I would have read this post differently, but in the wake of the Jacquemain story, the post raises some concerns. I hope someone is keeping an eye on this young man to make sure his recovery is on track.

At this point football is secondary (no pun intended).  He needs to get healthy and straighten things out off the field.  If he gets to a point where he could contribute to the team, fine...but there have been too many kids who had adversity wreck their lives.  Hoping he gets his life back together.

There's at least one rumor posted here and it should be gone.
