Interesting proposal, although whenever the first comment about an idea is that it's "noble" you can bet it isn't going anywhere.
“It's noble to keep reinforcing the importance of academic success,” Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott said.
Some interesting names at the bottom of the chart included with the article, Purdue and Cal Berkley among many other reputable schools, below the median. Some schools really are too hard, maybe. And don't look now but Marshall is above OU in the rankings, people.

I noticed that as well re the names at the bottom of the list. It may be that it is more difficult to stay eligible at those schools, and thus if players leave early the programs are more likely to get dinged.
Definitely not a perfect plan, but it moves the needle back towards the student half of "student athlete".

Bob-I believe the article states the graduation data is 2001-04. Not really too current!
