All the lots open as far as I know, but be prepared for them to be crowded early with Kidsfest at 10:00. Tailgreat park is also supposed to be open, weather permitting...

It sure was great to be back in Athens today! Was able to score a #7 practice jersey for my nephew who loves Lavon!

Did anyone go?  Impressions?  Photos?  I'm a little surprised by the lack of comments on the game.

It was the Bakery Bowl, featuring more turnovers than a Squirrel Hill bakery

D wins championships.  Hope this was a case of credit to a championship caliber D.

Was there an announced attendance? Couldn't make it down, but sounds like the qb wr chemistry needs some work.

Had to be 500 at the Surplus Sale around noon. Felt like 4,000. They have to start using another concourse there.

From the ohiobobcats.com video, it looked like some not-so-good weather.  Is that so?  Did that keep the crowd down?

Alex wasn't kidding. I got to the surplus sale 15 minutes before it was supposed to begin and it was more dense than Halloween on Court Street. I wanted to pick up some windbreaker track pants to wear for rainy games but left the line as the game was about to begin. They need to have more cashiers on hand. I still ended up with a practice jersey, which they had a million of, and some wrestling shorts and football cleats, the latter two will surely be destroyed at Saturday's mud run.

As for the game, I expect Devin Bass to be a real impact player by 2013. The D-line was also quite impressive despite Crutcher, Scott, Bennett, and Taylor not playing.

I too was there about half an hour early and found that a lot of stuff had been picked over.  Definitely agree that they need to have more cashiers and need to spread out the goods.  It's only going to keep growing year after year.  Can't complain though, I took home a nice pair of green Nike basketball shoes ;)

I can beat that.....I was there 45 minutes early........last year they opened 30 minutes early....this year an hour early......guess I'll be there an hour and a half early when they have the next one.

For the second year in a row most of the shoes were gone early......saw a guy behind me with 6 boxes.  I did come away with a neat fleece lined jacket....a hugh wrestling duffle bag...and 3 tee shirts for only 25 bucks.

Devin Bass is quicker than quick.

I got there around 12:10. There was a decent line, from the cashiers' table to just outside the gate. I stood in line for about 5 minutes before they opened it and people began to rush in. It was so crowded and hard to move around that I wanted to get in and out as soon as possible.

Getting there that early definitely had its benefits. I walked away with a brand new messenger bag,  pretty beat-up football, new football gloves, new baseball dugout jacket, new green Nike basketball shoes, and my favorite item: a green Ivo Baltic #3 jersey, complete with the NCAA patch from the 2010 Tournament.

I hope you got 50% off the already-discounted price as 1/2 of the digits in his jersey number is missing.

Ivo was #3 in 2009-2010.  He switched to #23 his sophomore year.

Yup. Kinney wore #23 in 09-10. Baltic was the only current player's jersey I saw in the box, and I suspect the number change is the reason why. Even though the team has gotten new jerseys since the 2010 season, there's probably an NCAA rule about selling anything with the name AND number of a current player.

I got there about an hour and a half early having learned from the year before. I got a ton last year, so I didn't need as much this year. Was able to snag an Ohio baseball dugout jacket, the green Armon Bassett jersey from 2009-2010. Feels like a piece of history. A football, and a nice fleece and track pants. Last year I got a 33 green jersey without a name and a #39 football jersey with a ton of warm ups. Love the sale and the stuff sold is quality.

Man, I gotta slow down reading this board during my lunch break. I didn't catch the year the first time thru.

I love the Surplus Sale but it has outgrown where they house it. If they would use the other concourse as well they would be golden. It was like a stampede.
