This year's edition is even stronger than the '11 version and capable of topping last year's 10 win total.

I hope that the players will take the lack of respect as motivation.

Neal Huynh 4th team. Ask guards around the MAC if they can come up with six guards that are more of a nightmare to deal with. I like Phil Steele's stuff but that is comical.

Probably he ended up there because last season was cut short. But I agree and fully expect Neal to be 1st or second team and drafted.

Not to be technical, but it's probably Presbyopic.

One of the firms which I work for developed and is now marketing (but not in the U.S.), a cure for presbyopia, the age-related loss of near vision.  Next holy grail for eye surgeons now that lasik has plateaued.

since Steele has Ohio at #31 and no other mac schools have been mentioned since in his countdown he must have Ohio ranked as best in the mac. He has released his list up to #17 so far and I am assuming that Toledo  or  Northern Illinois would not be rated that high. Of course we all know what assumption is the mother of.

Now they are up to #15. I think its safe that Ohio is the highest rated team in the MAC. Rather than wondering if there will be any MAC teams in the top 14, an alternate question is, will there be any teams from the state of Pennsylvania. No teams from that state have been listed, yet. Here are the rankings, so far.

If so, that would mean Ohio will be ranked higher than their first opponent.

I know we are the die hard fans and have gradually adjusted to the OHIO success but if you take a step back and look at the job Frank has done in Athens he's taken a middling (not a good but a middling) MAC program to the point where for the second year in a row Ohio is in in the Top 35 of the Steele preseason rankings. That is a remarkable accomplishment when you think about how many coaches come into the MAC and tell the community that he's the guy to put the program on the national map when Frank actually did it. His program has met all reasonable expectations and beyond. We thought Frank could win a bowl but he's not simply had some success he's built this program up to be a Southern Miss/Fresno State type program that always competes. He's done it without taking the easier sleeping giant route that you find at big market programs like Houston and UCF. To win at the mid major level at a place where 2/3 of the recruiting relies upon out of state is simply tough to do. Its not like we are in Texas or Florida with automatic built in recruiting advantages.

I was thinking the other day about how odd it is that the senior classes in the rest of the MAC schools think of Ohio as one of the best .. if not THE best .. football programs in the MAC.  Just ten years ago we were wondering if Ohio was destined for poor to mediocre football programs.  Now, we have a senior class that's 27-14 overall, 19-5 in MAC regular season games, been to two MAC championship games and three bowl games, with one win.  More importantly, the program has reached a point where it doesn't rebuild, it reloads.  Solich has done wonders.  Thanks, Frank.

OCF--Sorry for the delayed response.  VERY busy with work.  pm me--our new presbyopia business is a very interesting--maybe--and very long tale.
