Isn't it about time to get one?  It's time to plan the fall.

They might be waiting to see if Temps' "imminent" departure is for real or just more wishful thinking.

It's been a late-Feb to late-March endeavor the last few years.  I'd guess we'll see one in the next couple weeks.

Yep.

Anyway, Alan is just blowing smoke. He doesn't know when the leaves will fall anyways, and that's what really plans his weekends. He's just here to stir the pot.

I wonder if we are going to get Toledo or Northern Illinois on the schedule now that Temple is exiting stage left for 2012.

Too Bad neither would be at home. Would certainly spice up the home slate.

Now come on Ben, you know that I don't rake my leaves until after Halloween and we all know that we don't have home Saturday football games in November anyway so there's no conflict there.

Truthfully, I was more interested in conflicts with the Fur Peace concert schedule.  They have some great shows coming up again this year.  If you've never been it's a great venue to see Rock and Roll Hall of Fame talent up close.

With TU to The Big East I would think all conference teams with TU on the schedule for next year will be left to fen for themselves. This is a complex situation based upon the lateness of this decision.
The league will have a tuff time insuring that each team plays 12 games next season.
Will TU have to pay a penalty? They should. With Peirce gone I would project they will have a tuff couple of years with the stronger schedule. I predict they go 6-6 at best next year.

Doubt schools would be left hanging... conference schedules not announced yet, they'd have been total idiots not to have been planning for the situation.  Adding UMass, it isn't like anything really changes from years past.  Also, the penalty for early exit they announced today was $6 million.

No, they wont. Everyone will play 8 conference games, just like last year and the year before that. Hell, even if 4 additional teams decided to leave, no one would be up a creek. This all gets sorted out pretty easily in the conference schedule.

With BUGS back in the East.  And if they do so, we should be at UMASS (which rocks for me), home to Western and at Northern.

fbschedules.com before temple dropped out shows Ohio's road games this year being Ball State, Kent State, Miami and Temple. Home games being Akron , Buffalo, Bowling Green and UMass. Put the UMass game in the road game slot of Temple and with BG back in the east that leaves one western school to add to the schedule as a home game. The last time we played Northen(regular season)was a home game, probably leaves them out. Since the last game against Western was there in 08 my guess is the Bronco's will be the home game against a western team. Of course the fact they have us playing at Ball State kills my theory. What a scheduling mess this has turned out to be. No wonder it is taking so long.

If the last three years are anything to go by, I'd expect to see most of them in the next 2-4 weeks.  Right now we're probably waiting on finalizing of the ESPN+ games of the week and STO coverage, as well as ESPN finishing their first couple weeks of scheduling for power conferences (PSU).  Expect 11/23 to stay TBA until about three weeks out, for a potential ESPNU/3 slot, as has been the case for the last few years.

ESPN wisely taking advantage, getting on board the America-loves-them-OHIO bandwagon to boost their ratings.

^ Normally that would sound SO homer and reek of sarcasm. Havent we destroyed ratings of the time slots we've been plugged into though?

I'm not sure how the ratings were during the regular season, but the Tater Bowl was the 2nd highest rated among MAC bowl games, losing to the Pizza Bowl 1.66-1.65.  We handily beat the Mizzou-UNC game (1.53) and Pitt-SMU (1.49), and were only two-tenths of a ratings point behind Florida-O$U (1.85).

http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2012/01/college_footba...

Also I saw a chart that showed our visit to the NO Bowl vs. Troy in 2010 doubled the rating for that bowl from each of two previous seasons.

The Temple game was the 2nd best rated in it's timeslot if I recall correctly.
