Just so I can be the one to call it.. I think it's gonna be a huge donation towards the multi-purpose facility

I'm hoping it's another wing of the Bobcat Club specifically for former athletes. IMO, the one area that's really lacking is in athletes' giving back. I'm hoping they set up some sort of endowment program that can provide a long-lasting impact to Ohio Athletics. But I could be dreaming.

"Ohio University Athletics will announce its exclusive organization for former Bobcat student-athletes on Wednesday at Noon"

Just reading the website, I assume a modern day lettermen's club if you will.

This may be bringing back the Old Varsity O Club, which I think has been moribund since at least the Big Mack era.

Looks like you guys were correct.  Guess the Gary Trent day must have inspired them to reach out more.

They should include club sports.

Club Ohio just doesn't have the right ring to it!

What would be your rationale here?

Almost anyone can play club sports (at least most of them). It's not much different than playing in beer league softball...

You need to skate around with the Bobcat hockey program and tell them they are not much different than beer league softball. What a stupip freaking statement!!!!

Isn't Ohio Hockey, even though a "club sport", under a different administrative umbrella than other club sports?

Sorry I like the hockey program but there is an enormous difference between D1 and club skills. They might compete just as hard but its almost apples and oranges.

There is sometimes not as much difference as one might think. Penn State and OU have been skating rivals with very close matches for years but yet PSU this year is going D1 with pretty much the the same skaters. Difference-YES-Huge Difference-Not so much! Could OU skate with the best D1 programs in the country, maybe not but equivalent to beer league-not so much!! IMO!!
