Thanks, now that that question has been answered we can move on to other concerns; What is the date that the players report to fall camp?

I'm confused.  I thought the first day of fall this year was September 22.  Guess I better contact the calendar people and see if I can get a new calander.

So, Alan, are you playing it safe w/ two different spellings of the same word? Or are you just trying to lose even more credibility?

Is the earlier start to fall classes (August 27) impacting practice/camp schedule?

Ewwwww. Sorry, I just threw up a little, thinking about OHIO being on semesters.

(yes, I know it was on semesters way back in the day, but damnit! we were on quarters when I was there. Quarters are, therefore, the only proper way to go through OHIO.)

No. It's based on the date of your first game.

I've done both......started out in 66 on semesters......think we switched about 67 or 68 to quarters......quarters  were much better.....but St. Patty's in Athens when students were there was kinda fun.....not so much fun for the powers that be....I have a few stories.

Naw, just trying to give you folks on a tax payer financed 12 week summer vacation something to do to keep up your grading skill level.

I think if classes would have started any sooner, it would have changed the start date. Basically, it counts 40 practices back from the date of the first game. Any day when class is in session or the week of a game counts as just one practice. Those coinside on this schedule as it stands this year. Otherwise it counts as two (two-a-days). Sundays are not included when counting potential practice days.

Don't know of any teachers (co-workers, relatives, friends) on a 12-week summer vacation. But I'll check my calander (calendar).

Athens City Schools are.   Last day, May 25.  First day, August 17.  That's 12 weeks.  In Newark, it's 11 weeks and 3 days.  Pretty close to 12 weeks.  But hey, who really cares.  I was just giving you a little grief for your correction of my spelling.  Not that I didn't deserve it having called into question the "have went" postings of several posters before.  Right OCF?

There will be no after-school detention assigned, Alan, as long as you promise to never misuse "lose/loose" in any future posts.

Wait a minute.  Complaining about teachers having the same vacation that they've had ever since?  Your future depends on the education of those in school now.  The vast majority of Americans have Social Security as a major component of their retirement plans.  SosSec is heavily dependent on workers supporting retirees.  It's a great argument to propose that teachers/education are a problem.  Some bad ones...tenure's too easy?  Sure, but it's the same in most businesses.  Dumbing down America is a great plan for the future.  See history; rise in public education paralleling rise of America.

Fall camp can't get here soon enough.

Alan, my wife, the English Department's former "grammar-bigot," gives you an A+ for confronting "have went" wherever it rears its ugly head.  It's one of her pet peeves.

Doc is right.  My wife began at OHIO under Semesters in the Fall of 1966.  I, being a year younger, began in the Fall of 1967 under the Quarter system.  Now that the entire  State system is under Semesters aren't we all just a happy bunch!
