Out of respect for Frank I refuse to get real dirty with this, but I am pretty sure Woody never drove the wrong way down West Union.  And just like Woody, Frank paid his dues, suffered his consequences and has been able to move on in a positive manner.

If Woody would have done that:  Nobody in their right mind would have ever, ever charged him, It would never been in the paper, and the "arresting" officer would have drove him home in his own car and put him to bed!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JCW, you've got Cowtown done to a "t."  You're exactly right.

TB, thanks for the official link.  It was great.  I've just sent it to a friend in Cowtown who is very close to the Hayes family.  He has a sense of humor.  I think he'll like it, actually.

The Michigan Band incorporated Rufus vs. Brutus into their "Wizard of Oz" halftime show, see at 4:49 on the clip: "don't look now, brutus, but it's the Ohio University bobcat!"

Well I am going to michigan tomorrow for the wisconsin game. Wish they would due at least part of the wizard of oz show again. If you see an old guy looking like john mccain and wearing Ohio gear being escorted out for being too rowdy it just might be me.  Hope to be back for the kent game in time but I don't know, this could be a 70-70 game.

If you type "bobcatattack.com" on Google, about the time you get to end of "bobcat" Google suggests "bobcat attacks brutus" as a search alternative.

And a friend of mine who was The Bobcat in the mid '70s bought a toy Rufus to go with his toy Brutus, and snapped a picture of them with Rufus on top of Brutus.  It looks like the original.

Well, if Woody had gone straight to the police, this would never have happened.

In Rufus related news-

The Cincinnati Bearcat mascot was removed and arrested today for throwing snowballs at Pitt fans. He was asked to stop by security and refused, and then pushed two security guards. The ESPN announcers brought up the Brutus/Rufus incident and said something along the lines of "what is it about Cat mascots in Ohio?" they got a good laugh out of it.

We were at the Blue Jacket game last night and, every home game, the Blue Jacket foundation does a silent auction. I was walking around the pictures and there's one of Rufus on Brutus's back throwing a right.

$115 and looked very nice. I might have to buy that next Saturday night.

Yea, he could have really hurt someone the way he was winging those snowballs.

There are certain standards of conduct, and inciting the crowd to throw objects onto the field is a dangerous situation, if you do not think so, I invite you to show up at an Ohio University game and start throwing things on to the field.

Field is right there below the perch he was standing on which was in the newly reconfigured endzone, about 10 rows to the field.  He was "inciting" the action to a mass of people.  Keep in mind as well UC sells alcohol so you have more of a professional environment there than any other college game in Ohio (I am for alcohol sales at sporting events, including OHIO, I am not for being drunk and stupid).

The PA also warned the mascot over the Public Address system to stop, and he refused as well as ignoring orders from Law Enforcement and Stadium staff.

After a disappointing loss to Marshall, I enjoyed listening to Ohio's own Ken Broo on WLW during  the drive home. He was having a lot of fun with the happenings that afternoon at the UC game and compared it to the Rufus/Brutus incident.  Stated he loved what Rufus did but thought the Bearcat outdid him. Looked like those lobbed snowballs were going to do some real damage.

The video obviously only shows parts of the scenario.  But what ya can see is very lightly tossed snowballs.

I can see grabbing the guy and escorting him out maybe.  More likely making him do his thing 30 or more yards away from the nearest human.

But Wanamaker you come off like Gestapo here.  Do you shoot jaywalkers?

Do you think Ken Broo is going to help on bail money? or court cost?  NOPE!  He is simply a talking head like the rest of t hem.  As for you Monroe, you would think the dude throwing rocks at the truckers head in the LA riots was justified....

Wow! Now Broo, one of Ohio's biggest boosters, is a target of JCW's wrath. Broo, of 50,000-watt WLW, no less.

Good analogy.  Puff lobbing puff snowballs is equivalent to throwing rocks at trucks.
