This just joins the list of other recent noteworthy national headlines about OU (can we get more of the Hoya-like headlines, please?):
-Solich DUI
-Georgetown upset (awesome)
-Halloween
-#2 party school
-Mascot attack

  _ DAY LIGHT SAVINGS RIOT....

I support 2 through 5.

Sportsnation does another poll today......  86% of people enjoy seeing mascots get tackled.  Ohio again bringing up the rear with 73%.

what about DAY LIGHT SAVINGS RIOTS

The daylight savings riots are really more a rememberance of the first day light savings riot, when patrons turned out early from the bars ran into/merged with a pre-existing riot (I believe it was an anti-war riot, but I might very well be mistaken on that, it happened years before I was born). I know that when I was at OHIO (2001-05) it seemed like there were as many people uptown to WATCH the riots as were there to participate. In the interests of marketing, the University should rebrand the time change riots as an historical recreation.

Friday is "Not Top Ten" day on Sportscenter, and Rufus pulls in the #1 spot.

See it at the end of every hour from now until 3PM!

one more tidbit of joy in this embarrassment- Buckeye fans are really angry. They're spending pages ranting about what a poor tackler Rufus is as if that is what the rest of the nation is talking about. I love A&M rage with all my heart.

2008: Lovable Brewers mascot Hungry Prince Fielder delights the crowd during the seventh-inning stretch when he chases five giant sausages all the way around the Miller Park infield

I saw this happen live. A shame about the kielbasa, though.

Thing is they are correct, no wonder Meigs football is so bad their alumni can not even tackle a guy with a big foam head.

That's hilarious, but his mentality?  What was his mentality - borderline sociopath with an unnatural fear of nuts?

funny video of EMU's mascot getting his swole on just in case Rufus tries to mess with him too. We should have the new Rufus turn this new found celebrity into a positive and coordinate some preplanned, friendly tussels with the opposing mascots, it could become his calling card. Fans for both sides would probably eat it up.

For all those holier than though A & M ers out there, our mascot may have tried to give yours a smackdown, but I don't remember any of OUr coaches punching an opposing player, do you?

Just to ease the minds of those that believe Rufus v Brutus has forever sullied and tarnished Ohio's reputation irreparably and forever, I worked a college fair for Ohio last night where hundreds of parents and students were in attendance. I spoke with dozens of them about our fair alma mater. And not once was the altercation mentioned by anyone. There is even a literature piece that features Rufus, and bupkis, nothing. I did get many pf the standard, "oh, you guys are ranked #1 in football now" and "are you Ohio State?", but no mention of mascot fights. The water has officially run under the bridge, I just hope the administration moves on.
