Here we have it, this is the thread to post subjects that you'd like the OHIO marketing department to hear. I will be presenting these ideas in the fall when I get back to Athens.
I started the subject of Market Differentiation in another thread, I wish to keep a similar format:
Here is the beginning list of differentiating factors for OHIO (please quote from this list and add input):
Firstly, OUr athletic department has accessibility that no one offers. Many people have never had a chance to meet with their favorite team's coach, we have the caravan.
Secondly, we have a campus that is easy to navigate through. There are less headache's in traveling to game day in Athens when you adjust for time spent in big-city traffic. Being open is a HUGE advantage and provides a special game day experience especially when the ENTIRE town of Athens is involved, which there is clear evidence of. In a nutshell, OHIO could have an all-inclusive game day experience that NO ONE else can rival.
So BA'ers, have at it..

From a sports standpoint I don't think we offer anything really unique. We do have great seating, especially for the students. We currently have a lovable underdog role, a stark alternative to the state school. Also the school supports the students tremdendously (free bowl game, MACC, NCAA tourny tickets, ect.). That may be a selling point to current students (unparralelled support). However, what is really unique is our name. As super ficial as it might be, it is the key to achieving what quite frankly no other school in the MAC can achieve (other than UMass, who also a "birthright" so to speak).
From a school standpoint, of FBS schools in the state,it is only OHIO and Miami that offer a true university experience: a beautiful walking campus that has minimal townie/ real world interaction.
