The History Channel is showing an episode of How the States Got Their Shapes called "Force of Nature", and couple times during the show they've had clips from someone identified as "Keith A. Milam, University of Ohio".  So do we start a petition?

This is probably the guy.  Why not send him an email and ask him to contact the history channel.

I actually don't mind "University of Ohio;" it's really kind of a compliment.  It is wrong, but it's basically benign -- not like the ugly insult implied in "Ohio U."

History channel isn't going to go back and re-edit one of their shows, particularly not one thats been done and wrapped for years. Kinda disappointing that Brian Unger (the show's host and an OHIO alum) didn't catch it, but I don't honestly know what sort of proofreading the show's "face" actually does.

On a related note, I was reading a professional publication (scientific journal) 2-3 years ago and came across an article authored, in part, by a guy at OHIO. It never crossed my mind to contact the journal, but I was on the verge of hitting "send" on an email tearing this particular faculty member a new orifice for signing off on a manuscript that had his affiliation listed as "University of Ohio, Athens, Ohio, 45701". One of my labmates talked me away from the trigger[send button].

Show isn't years old, maybe a yearish. You're right though that it likely won't be fixed. We actually had this discussion when the episode first aired, I believe.

Worse, IMO, is that last week's issue of Newsweek had a story where they mention "Ohio State University Professor of Economics Richard Vedder."

They ran a correction this week.
