We're five games into the season and Ohio has given up only 54 pts, an average of 10.8 ppg. But the average has steadily declined as the season has proceeded, from 20 after SDSU, to 13.3 after FAU, to 10.8 after BG. With the defense hitting on all cylinders, when will Ohio give up its 100th point of the season, if at all?

Ohio is 4th in yards allowed per game but has played one more game than the top 3. More games usually means regression to the mean and those teams be playing better competition than they have been playing (or WE have been playing or will be playing. I'm not contending that Ohio is actually the BEST defense in the country). We will play one of the worst offenses in the FBS at home on October 7. It feels pretty realistic that we could get to #1 at some point.

With all the offensive injures so far this year, we have done everything we can to speed up the games which tends to hold down the possessions and scores. We’ll see if we can keep that up or get the offense going.
