When did football players stop wearing knee pads? It appears that some are now wearing shorts. Not unlike the 1976 ChiSox under Bill Veeck.
I’ve wondered about this too. Heck, I wore knee pads when I played basketball! The guys are bigger and the surface is faster, hence the collisions have to be greater. It might be a fashion statement.

Way back in the day we took our hip pads and knee pads out of out uniform because it made you feel faster.

If there is gonna be a week where the offense starts to return to 2022 form, this should be it.

Having gotten past the part of the schedule with some of the better defenses we will play and with most offensive players returned from injury, they need to show something here.

With as good as the defense is playing, Offense doesnt necessarily need to take risks that will put the offense in a bind but we gotta start showing we are at least competent.

How will we do against an average to above average MAC defense?

I'd have kicked it.

1. He's a freshman who needs some more experience, and on longer kicks.
2. We had the wind helping.

Ankle injury to Jones doesn't look good at all.

No, it doesn't. Really hate to see him go down. Passing game is so much better with him in the game.

Forget about potential injuries against P5 opponents discussed in another thread this week. I'm concerned how Ohio will come out of this game at BG with the dirty play we're seeing before the half.

BOLD PREDICTION: We'll put up as many or more points on BG as did UMich yesterday, in a 31-6 victory.
Very close to being prophetic. ;-)

Either that or tell him to fall if he feels any pressure. They’ve already tried to hurt one of our best players.

This offense looks out of sync. I'd like to see them execute better and get in the end zone here and then sit Rourke.

Turd Ferguson ejected for BGSUCKS. Good riddance. Let's get this wrapped up before someone else on our team gets hurt because of butthurt opponents.

Davon Ferguson, number 7 : https://bgsufalcons.com/sports/football/roster/davon-ferg...

Apparently is a team captain too.. pretty crappy behavior for a supposed leader of the team.

BG was averaging 57 penalty yds a game. I think they had that in the first quarter today.

Three players ejected and a dozen penalties for 123 yds according to Live Stats. Seemed like more. Not a good showing for their homecoming.

We had three times our average, 8 penalties for 65 yds. I think a good chunk of ours was for celebrations after TDs. Not good, but it beats kicking an opponent who's lying on the ground.

Good showing by the offense. Second-most points on offense this season(the D scored 15 of the 38). Roarke was 15 of 16 for 196 yds, 3 TDs and no INs. We'll take that any day. Jones had four catches for 84 yds before he went down. Cross three for 54 and a TD.

Concerned about the O line. They don't see to be making holes they did last year. Allison just 42 yds on 14 carries and Bangure 27 on 9. It's a 3-yd average but they don't seem to have the opening they did last year. Missing Meservy?

The D was great again this week. No pts allowed in the first three quarters for the second week in a row.

Stomping on BG is always enjoyable.

Glad the bye week is here. We really got banded up today and need some time to heal up. Jones probably won't be back for Kent but most of the injuries seemd pretty minor.

Jones left with what looked like an ankle injury and didn't return. I think Allison was shaken up on the next play but he came back in. We had two or three defensive players come out; with what seemed to be minor injuries didn't get names or numbers because by then the game was out of hand and the ESPN announcers were talking about other things. I think we also had someone on the kickoff cover team shaken up. Seems like we had a streak of three or four plays in the third quarter where the medical staff was on the field.
