BG board is already saying (correctly), that they need to beat Ohio to have a shot at Detroit.

The transfer portal has certainly paid off for us on defense.

Walter Reynolds, Tristan Cox, Kaci Seegars, Kwame Sutton.

Defense will be getting an additional boost going forward with Sutton (Austin Peay transfer) seeing the field. I believe that was his first game and you can see the instant impact he had with a sack and 3 total tackles.

Now if we can only get the offense moving and in sync.

I'll be in with my son. This will be my first time seeing any game at BG and I've wanted to for a long time. It's an underrated college town. Bobcat Bash? Parking tips?

There is typically not a Bobcat Bash at BG. There is plenty of parking at the stadium. I recommend parking and tailgating. It's a pretty quick walk from the parking lot to the Ohio section.

I guessed 9 last night. My brother was expecting it to be more than that. Our expected best offense in the MAC has not showed up yet.

I think that is a very generous line. I envision another low scoring game. At what point is our offense just not slow starting but rather just what we are?

BOLD PREDICTION: We'll put up as many or more points on BG as did UMich yesterday, in a 31-6 victory.

Interesting question about the offense.

I was lucky enough to be in the stadium at FAU and was impressed with the scheme, discipline, speed and tackling by the Owls. I was surprised by their speed and physicality that night. Although Clemson put a 48-14 shiner on FAU last night, they only gave up a total of 367 yards defensively to the Tigers.

I thought Iowa State's defense was better than FAU's, especially the defensive backfield. They've given up <300 yards/game defensively each game this season.

So, I don't think we yet know.

BG turned Michigan over four times and held the Wolverines to 312 total yards. The Wolverines didn't pass much (8-13) and still had 3 INTs. They rushed 31 times for 169 yards (5.5/attempt).

Here's to a balanced attack and no turnovers on Saturday. Get through BG and we've got a bye week to improve everything and heal up any dings before Homecoming vs. Kent State.

I hate this game, will have a big sigh of relief if and when we survive with a win. I do vividly recall last year in Athens thinking "Wow BG is really terrible" when we played them. I felt the blowout win could've been even bigger. Holding Michigan to just 31 seems like an accomplishment. As long as we avoid a horrific turnover margin and/or avoid multiple big plays from them, we should be fine.

I agree this game is scary af. These guys ripped Toledo last year. Remember them? I was amazed our clincher against them was a blowout. We've had the better team multiple times and still left the doyt tail between legs. Huge, difficult roadie to start the conference season.

BG was down to their 3rd sting QB in the Michigan game. Their starter is hurt and their backup got hurt. It appears both might not be able to go this week.

I think that Toledo put about as much effort into that game as we did against Long Island. Bowling Green won so many close games last year where the other team was without its quarterback, or in CMUs case Lew Nichols and they got blown out by several different MAC teams including Ohio missing the MAC player of the year and lost their FCS game. You do have to hand it to them for beating Marshall. However, they were one of the worst teams to ever be bowl eligible. I'll bet the odds makers would have had them as a bottom 15 FBS teams.

This is a road game and our would be prolific offense hasn't showed and if it doesn't show for this one it will be a very tough one to win. 8 or 9 points seems about right but if is another low scoring game it will be closer than that and we could very easily lose.

It is still realistic to think the offense that led the MAC is scoring in spite of playing two top 15 defenses non-conference and playing without the MAC player of the year for 3 1/2 games will show at some point. We basically have 10 offensive starters from that unit, Rourke didn't have a full camp, has likely had a concussion, and Wiglusz, Jones, Cross, and Foster have all been on the field about half as much as you'd have hoped. That's gonna kill your passing attack.

If we can get the defense that showed up late last year and so far this year back with the offense from last year before Rourke went down then I think it is going to very difficult for most MAC teams to beat us. We haven't seen it yet.

I do think the fact that there is a bye week after this game eliminates the players from taking this too lightly. Get the MAC season off to a great start. This could be great for momentum.

BG board not confident in the quarterback news. They seem to think both their starter and second stringer are OUT based on today's presser. BG cancelled practice today because so many players need some recovery.

The line has moved to -12.5. I'd guess that it is probably mostly in response to that. 4 points is a pretty big shift.

I did see the line increase so perhaps that news was tossed in at some point.

I think that that's the best I've seen TA do in one of these sessions. He seemed more relaxed and comfortable. Everything he said was clear and understandable. It think he's really beginning to settle into the job.

Just listened to the BG press conference...Things sound pretty brutal with that team right now. Seems like every position is a mess with injuries.

We better come out with some urgency and take it to them.

SBH introduced me to OUr AD Julie Cromer earlier this year at a Green and White function. After some small talk, I asked her if she'd like a little friendly advice. I'm sure she was thinking that that is the last thing she wanted to hear from a perfect stranger but she politely agreed to hearing what was on my mind.

My suggestion was that she does anything in her powers to keep SBH away from any future Bobcat games, football or basketball, at Bowling Green due to too many Bobcat losses over the last 4 decades with SBH in attendance at Doyt Stadium or Anderson Arena/Stroh Center.

Here's hoping she remembers OUr little talk.
